Do you hate Chennai??
by Adithya on Oct 03, 2005 05:24 PM  Permalink

Chennai....the land of blah blah???

Excuse me sir...

Your Chennai-bashing article brings into my mind the other extreme of the situation...if there is no Big brother..tht will result in more number of DPS

incidents. The reason why DPS happened was that the people involved in it were simply not prepared for the consequence. The girl involved in the incident needn\'t hv fled the country if she knew what she was doing. The media that abhorred this incident, is now against a practice that only wants to ensure that such things don\'t happen again...Now I am not for moral moral policing nor am I for an absolutely free hand for youth.the whole point of the situation is not big brother attitude...it is hypocrisy on indian media\'s side.If you think there is nothing wrong in kissing and finding yourself at compromising positions then there is nothing wrong with oral sex..The point is that India is still not prepared for the western lifestyle...because we are simply not prepared to accept its consequences. As for the actress incident.....it is not Chennai specific...I am sure it qould have happened anywhere esle in India. again, India is still not entirely prepared for the western lifestyle.

My Take
by Rajesh Ramasubramanian on Oct 03, 2005 05:24 PM  Permalink

Scene 1
You are over reacting

Scene 2
You've missed the point. Journalists like you should be sent to Andamans.

Scene 3
Most crime (read sexual assaults) in western countries are due to skimpy dressing, excessive drinking, degredation of family values and collapse of social ethos. By the way, I live in UK for the past 3 years so I know what I am talking.

Scene 4
Freedom of expression does not mean doing whatever you like

Scene 5
If all journalists (or should I say Gossip/Masala writers) think like you, then yeah, we sure need to have a 6 lane expressway in Andaman.. you know leading where ;-)

Media Maniac
by Ram on Oct 03, 2005 05:21 PM  Permalink

What are you trying to suggest? Every girl must behave like a nymph and get banged by as many boys as possible? Keep your sexual fantasies within private atmosphere and controlled manner. If you behave like dogs and pigs then Big Brother will appear and whack you for not behaving like human beings. If people in other cities are behaving like mad Chennai need not follow the footsteps. Having IT companies and Automobile major does not mean every girl in Chennai must work out their virginity test. I am not saying any one should monitor you but when you behave properly no one will bother.
