Though certain incidents might have happened here in chennai.I feel the author is too strong with the choce of words.
Its not about chennai.Its about the whole india.Where are we heading..As she said following the BIG BROTHER of the world AMERICA.Where everything is common and welcomed with the so called broad mind.

If making fun is the intention sure the author will get lot of applause.
I dont have any intention of hurting any people of any region. But the person who wrote has a very nice way of presentation.
And I would not like to compare because to compare any to places I should have the statistics. And I know its the same everywhere.
So its a request to all the people that we are staying in 21st century so please me mature and dont create anything which goes again the freedom. I dont want to mean that we start doing nonsense stuffs but you can't stop right.
Just do police watch on minors and people gettng harassed. Don't divert your attention to other things. I also don't want the Big Brother to get hurt. Do you r duty please. There are lots of crime and I think you should concentrate their.
To the teachers. Are you a teacher who use so filthy language. In my whole career I have seen only one teacher. A job of a teacher is that his/her students are better than him/her. So please concentrate their. Students are loosing respect for you and we can never clap with one hand. So make this world a better place by thinking and not culture which was defined few centuries back.
Don't talk about the population in India.Looks like we are not smart at night while injecting Gold into the tunnel of LOVE. We are not good in Mining. That is why sex study is more important. Look at the Divorce rates where people are allowed to kiss/smootch/intercourse in public. Atleast in that area we are better because in not allowing certain things in public else the girl or guy who you see together today may not be with the same girl or the guy tomorrow. That is how human mind operates (at least a Man's). They are the sexual predators and would never miss a chance they get. At least be a Little different that animals who have SEX not realizing the surrounding. You maybe thinking whatz wrong.Nothing other than someone saying that he/she is a slut. Having such a name on a kid affects a respectable parent/family.I hardly know anyone who would say NO when a Lady(Cute) is willing to have any intimate relationship. Don't know about a Girl's mind though.You should have given an example of what betterments would it have done by permitting this in public instead of being Just a criticizer.In short our culture is more important for which MOST WILL AGREE.If not go to Amsterdam not India

What rubbish is this? I have never seen or heard such things happen and i happen to be there for 17 years. Yes agreed that Chennai is far more strict when it comes to moral ethics...but why dont you see the brighter side of things?? I would not definitely want to see us blindly apeing the west. Does the author mean to say that kissing in public or dancing obscenely in discotheques is "cool"?? Wearing sleeveless tops definitely sounds OK but where does the necessity of wearing short skirts arise? Shame on rediff to have published such an article.
