I know that everybody has the freedom of expressing their views. But in a site like rediff which has such mass reach among people... Such article must be carefully scrutanized before being posted on the site.
This lady seems to have inly bookish knowledge about Chennai and has written this so called "article" for name sake.
I hope you understand that articles like this involves feeling of all the Chennaites. And few of the instances mentioned in the article are rediculous. Request you to remove this article from your portal.
Hi Shobha!!! Pls don't be so rude abt Chennaites. In such big cities there will definetely be such stupid people and its not in Chennai alone. It happens everywhere. But things like Big Brother episode inside a bedroom is utter nonsense.... Even Chennai kids will not beleive such stories.....
Try to see all good things happening in Chennai tooo.....
hi buddy... i am from chennai but in mumbai now..i can accept that chennai is not as open as mumbai. i appreciate u'r creativity ...but it should be believable too ;-) remember ..in chennai we have couples, lovers, parents and certainly reproduction...then where is u'r big B..cheers
What a funny way to justifying the Act happened in the disco. Women taking Taquella(how many shots!!!) kissing... etc etc. How many of the pairs in the disco are real couples??? 75% of the upper class are alcohol consumers. Is that alcoholism is a drug???? You can kiss your spouse or your girl friend in the public place but not igniting others. Coming to Kushboo.... The Tamilnadu people built temple for her because of her acting pleasure. Now it turns and question her virginity before her marriage. Safe sex is always advisable and should be followed but not before marriage both for Men and Women(especially Men). Every Celebrity has a face value based on their character. If Bipasha conveyed this message we never mind... But the people who built temple to her definity didnt expect this kind of comment(what a way to express as safe sex hahahhahhhaha) hence the reaction is a bit strong.
While it is true that moral policing does happen in Chennai, it is not as bad as what is being depicted in the media.
I do admit that this sort of moral policing will have to stop, but at the same time it is very disheartning to find the name of the city getting spoilt. Chennai does offer people the same amount of freedom, liberty that a Bangalore or a Mumbai offers, but it is the act of a few ghastly idiots that soils the whole fun.
So do not blame Chennai, blame the \\\"Big Brother\\\".
I agree with the editorial written here. Really its true that Chennai has still to develop a lot and should be broad minded which I dont think they still are.
U travel in a bus and even if u stand on the ladies side people start staring at you as if u have committed the biggest crime on earth. U cant sit on that side even if there are no ladies standing and seat is empty. An old man is also supposed to get up. WHY? Cant a young lady just stand and let that old man sit in her seat.
Sorry to say this but that is CHENNAI!! And thats the culture. God save this city!
All gr8 things about chennai fine....Agreed!!! Big Brother Watching.....almost ensuring the distance between the sex maintained and preaching to the so called (Western hypnotised crowd the meaning of culture,ethic..etc etc)....appreciate!!!
One thing I dont understand? With all these in place..how come its one of the prime contenders in HIV+ issue??
How about looking at the pond from outside? May be we can make some difference!!!
