Delhi - City of rapes Calcutta - City of prostitution Mumbai - City of crime Chennai - City of moral policing (oh! this sounds better...) If the freedom you mean is only about sex and sex only then that is not what we are taking about. Its not only the for police/authorites but its the will of the people of tamil nadu to maintain certain restriction in their life style, even after so many incidents(exagratted in this article) there is no discontent or opposition from public. u need to have some restriction only then the freedom can serve its purpose, even in the so called advanced western society why women are restricted to roam topless, when men are free to do so???. Its not only tamils, let it be mallus, telugus, or kannadigas who share the tamil land are responsible for its culture. Some section of north indians who should feel shame about the poor development in their region breathe fire towards south in jealous. 1.TamilNadu has better literacy rate. 2.It houses complex of industries from auto, IT, BPO, electronics, leather and checmical. 3.Highest no. of eng colleges. 4.Better health care etc etc Let chennai be conservative and shall live it for ever. Finally down with shoba!!
i guess the author of the story haven\\\'t just landed in India. She should be well aware of our culture. Big brothers are trying to stop public nuisances and not relationships. Atleast, we Chennaites are proud enough to preserve our culture.
this horrible bcoz they can do what ever they want===dont interrupt anybody.boys n gals r equal.if u doing like this in Chennai, so many crime n criminals will grow n even rapes scenes also increased.boyz n gals should b social. i am getting so much pity about Chennai city.
Once my frd went to Chennai for interview.there he met some frds .they r telling if u talking with gals we have to pay fine.wat kind of customs n manners it is!!!!!!! so i am suggesting to them dont give too much pressure or strict..See Bangalore ,Delhi n Mumbai...how cool cities r they!!! so all r social there.
the media is playing its game this is one of the worst articles i have evver read to derrogerate a city's name of course chennai is a much more conservative city than most other cities in thisw vast country but still it has its own advantages i agree that the recent dress codes imposed on college students aare a bit too much but not a ll that the big brother does is wrong (iguess) after all i cannot remember couples going to discotheques, kissing in public places, ppl celebrating valentines day etc a few years ago. i dont say that there should be moral policing happening in any city but say that its not wrong to be a bit conservative and traditional i am a great fan of this city and i consider this article portrays totally onesided view after all this is how the media has been misleading the common man for a long time now.
Kissing alking to an opposite sex is not a crime or vulgar. There should be some limits which keeps the moral values .""Too much of everything is bad". This is applicable in this case also. The fundamentalists may try to run the wheel of time backwards which is a futile exercise.
Do you really know what happened in the hotel that day ? The reason Big Brother was after the bar in the hotel was the bar did not have the proper license to conduct a late night party. Please dont write misleading article like this without knowing the truth. What ever happened, I feel Chennai is one of very few cities in India where some good old Indian Culture and Heritage are still preserved and I am proud of it.
Everything except Scene 5 seems very possible. I have personnaly experienced some of them. I hope Shoba dwells more into this topic and figure out a legal way to beat the flawed system. Anyway, what is the "culture" of Chennai?
