If it is all right for a nonearning wife to get maintenance from the husband, then the vice versa is also right. With regards to being unscrupulous, so far, every unscrupulous spouse who is getting maintenance is a woman. Women ask for maintenance even in cases where they are independently earning. This is not to say that all women are so. I personally know two self-respecting women who shunned alimony and are living by themselves. But their percentage is abysmally low. Unscrupulousness is one area where women definitely excel men.
i feel it is a final blow to mendominated country like us. we talk about equality of gender and by ordering employed wife to give maintenance to her unemployed husband after divorce in allahabd high court , it is a great breakthrough in legal establishments. atleast now the so called husbands can not boost of feeding their wives.
It is a perfectly fair judgement. Yes, it could result in its misuse by unscrupulus husbands, but then women have been misusing the one sided law in their favor. It is only fair that the law should be equal and present level field.
yes it should be? if socity wants to give equlity to men and woman then why a man has a right on earning of wife if wife has such right. today where enemployment is increasing woman has advantage over men to get a job. i think high court is right.
Court is right. men should have this right.
