If he found guilty by the court, he should pay for that

If he is found guilty, he should be punished according to the law of land. No mercy for the people who kill the innocent people. The people who terrorise the country should be stoned to death or uglier than that as in Islamic law so that they should know the pain of the parents who lost their child, children who lost their parents, ladies who lost their husband. If the accused is not given highest punishment of the land of the soil, it may increase the terrorists activities.
I would suggest yes. Even if he is not found guilty but as we know for sure that he was involved in the bloodiest of all the attacks on Indians he should be awarded death penalty. As for our promise made to Portugal, diplomats should sort it. Going for death penalty without the consent of the potugese government would strain our diplomatic ties and also further deportation of criminals would become difficult. So we need to take them together and then go ahead with the process.

such terrorist minded people should be killed by shooting them. in front of the public so that no youngster will decide to do such crime, even if they think to do so, they should tremble by remembering the penalty
I dont think he must be spared. He must be killed in a cruel way with bomb.I feel so disgusting when i read that so many cricketers n stars r also included, all those people must be hanged. In india there is no value for life of innocent people.
A BIG NO for death penalty......Keep him to Catch the BIGGER FISH behind all the mis-doings...people like Salem need time out in the prison, to see his life getting wasted, time to repent....that is the biggest pinishment of all........Death is instant
While there is no doubt that Salem did is well deserving of a death sentence, India can not afford to do that since that will go against what Indian government has promised the Portugese government. The law has to be upkept, if the Indian penal code decides to award the death penalty to Abu Salem, India will never be able to extradite other criminals from Europe or any other country which honours UN convention. The death penalty in case of Abu Salem can be replaced by a life sentence, as in imprisonment till life and not for seven years or whatever.

As mentioned earlier if Salem is executed, India might be at a risk to extradite any more criminals from Europe. Even though this might be the case, India should still execute Salem.
If you think it this way, when America wants justice (Saddam for instance or War on Taliban)....does it have to worry about UN Conventions. To hell with it, Americans say.
Justice, in the true sense of the word, cannot have double standards. If UN conventions are really to be imposed, they should be applicable to one and all.
Leniency, in certain situations, does more good than harm. If India follows a lukewarm approach, it is giving out a clear message that people can get away no matter what they do. Nothing can do more harm than that. On the other hand, if he is put to justice, criminals all over the world will get the message that India does not take any nonsense.
Our judiciary should be given enough freedom to met out justice and no preconditions should exist.
These are some of the many reasons, why a criminal like Salem should be put to justice.

He definitely deserves death penalty but as per the promise by Indian government we can not do that. Indian authorities can reveal the treasure of secrets from the thorough investigations and find the interlinkings.
