by jay on Nov 13, 2005 01:17 AM  Permalink

He deserve no less than this. He and his friends should be warned by society that even you hide in any contry, we will cought you and your end will be a painful death. We could not let them live their luxury life in jail like other gangsters. Why we have to waste our tax money to keep them alive ? They have give horrible days to our citizens, now they should get same. No mercy.

The Government's commitment cannot be overturned
by Anand Rajadhyaksha on Nov 13, 2005 01:14 AM  Permalink

Too bad, but if the Government gave a commitment, it has an obligation to keep it.

I wonder, however, what Portugal would have done had Salem been a 9/11 accused wanted by the US and had the US asked for him?

None should be given death
by Jan Reloaded on Nov 13, 2005 01:01 AM  Permalink

Death seems to be a convenient way to get rid of some people from amongst us. It is we, our society, who bring up churn out such evil. Conveniently getting them out will not do. Let them be sntenced for life in prison, such prison, where public can see them serving, so that

he/she serves as a model of WHAT NOT TO BE !!!

Even Godse should not have been put to death. If he were

an exhibited convict India could have avoided many more hate mongerers like RSS goons, the Jehadi and Shiv-Sena.

At least for one generation these specimens can serve as

the depth of degeneration.

Same is true of Abu Salem !!!

cheers

Why forget the background which led the the serial blast.
by Jam Azmi on Nov 13, 2005 12:56 AM  Permalink

Sir,

All the media are over excited by the extradition/ arrest of Abu Salem to India. In this excitement they have forgotten the background which led to the serial blast. It was the demolition of the Babri Masjid demolition and later the massacre of Mumbai Muslims. It was the misguided muslim youths who thought this was the way to take the revenge of both.

Look at the politicians, how they have been vindicated by the courts or absolutely no action taken in the Mumbai muslim massacre. Is not the government and the courts protecting the majority community for their acts and only remembering the acts of the misguided muslims youth.

Does the court and the government have the courage to indict the Politicians who brought about the demoilition of the Babri Masjid and the massacre of the Mumbai muslims.

Will these Politicians also be lined up along with Abu Salem & Co. No one has that much courage to take on the majority community feelings at the cost of mminority community feelings.

Let me tell you till the time we have such politicians there will be such few misguided muslim youth.

In both cases,we the innocent human beings(majority or minority)suffer. Jam Azmi

Abu Salem
by arun visvanathan on Nov 13, 2005 12:45 AM  Permalink

Should Abu Salem be given the death penalty? What a stupid question. If India as a sovereign state has made a commitment it must honour it. If not, who will ever trust the word of the Indian Government again.
