I strongly believe whether or not its Abu Salem, ANYBODY involved in any terrorism activities whereby there is any threat or loss of innocent lives, that person should be given capital punishment & that too without showing any mercy, so that in the near future no one dares to even think of harming human lives.
Govt should stick to its undertaking. However, he should be given imprisonment of various durations for several of his offences that should run one after the other for the maximum duration agreed and NOT concurrently. He should be sent back to Portugal to serve this sentence.
yes he should be hanged for the simple reason that he killed people in mumbai, and also he should be hanged for if at all he is not given capital punishment then the expenses to take care in the jail will be heavy on the indian side. which is not reasonable stating the expenses already incurred in extraditing the person and not giving the capital punishment which he rightly deserves. and moreover what point is there after having a trial and you cant give a capital punishment as per laws and dance to the tunes of another country . if at all the death penalty is not given than better u handover the person to the same country who will take care of him and the take the ex penses also to maintain is life till death. we cant take the burden of acriminal giving him the punishment to slog in our country in jail and our jails are not better equipped also and allowing the courpt officers to safe guard his interest and practice unlawful activities from our jails inside the country . hence death penalty is must or you handover the person back to the same country.
If we fail to give death sentence to Abu Salem.....Then im sure that we will be facing lot of terrorism in a way of bomb blasts, hi jacks of plane etc. There is lot of fuss about him, why don't we just give him death sentence all at a time instead of wasting time....Well before it would be fine if we get all the information about "D" gang...
Ofcourse, death penalty should be given to such a heartless criminal. I don't understand why any reason can be justified to not give him a death sentence. If it is on the basis of human rights, how human is it to let him go only to allow him to commit more acts like the previous ones.
All persons involved directly or indirectly in terrorist activities against India should be given death penalty. Death penalty should be retained as it is an effective deterrent to potential criminals. If such persons are not given death penalty, & merely imprisoned, they may escape from jail OR they may be released subsequently OR some terrorist may hijack a plane, asking for his release in exchange. Once freed by any of the methods above, he will again resort to subversive & terrorist activities & result in grave consequences for the innocent public. Such people are hard-core criminals & they cannot be reformed. It is better to execute such dangerous criminals without any mercy. I am talking not only about Abu Salem but also other terrorists & gangsters. It is very necessary to put an end to such social menace like terrorism, extortions, kidnappings, robbery, etc. in a ruthless manner. Such criminals do not understand the language of love, peace & goodness. I very strongly advocate death penalty for crimes like terrorism, murder, rape, extortion, robbery, kidnappings, espionage, etc. Terrorists should be burnt to death in public while other criminals should be beheaded.
When we don't have any extradition teaty with Portugal; why the hell we are making noieses about so called promise done not to give death penality to a a "goonda" who was instrumental in killing so many persons.
