Yes indeed if he is proved guilty of these charges, the death penalty should certainly be given. The crimes were committed in India and the Portuguese government has no right to dictate to or interfere with the legal process in India.Even if the CBI has given any comitment to the Portuguese government, it should be ignored.
The 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai was a dastardic and horrific act of terrorism not only against the people of Mumbai and India but also against all humanity. Even the death penalty is not sufficient punishment for the perpatrators of such a crime. Having said that India should honour its commitment to Portugal that it would not give capital punishment to Abu Salem. Life in prison could be made worse than death itself, so my wish and fervent prayer would be that may he life a very very long life and every day in his life he and all his accomplices die a thousand deaths.
He should be hanged, blown etc in public view, just to show others that if they take his path what will be the destination.
I am sure entire India would like to see him hanged till death. Similalry, it would fair enough to get all culprits behind every single riots in India should be hanged, esp Gujarat. Will fellow Indians support it ????
Abu Salem shouldn't be given a death penalty in case any undertaking of that sort has been given by the Indian government to Portugal to secure his extradition. If it is dishonored, it will send wrong signals to the rest of the world and any further extraditions will be difficult.
However government should have consulted the Supreme Court before giving any such undertaking to avoid any constitutional violations.
Abu Salim must be given Death....And to all terrorist Death is the most suited panishment....otherwise their gang will bargain for them as ransom money for something
