I think Abu salem is a gold mine of info for anti-terrorist ops.He can be squeezed of it using all methods at disposal citing National Security Act since he was a part of group that bombed places of national importance like BSE.He can be put behind bars in a dark cell till death for this info. In case he refuses to divulge info, he can be just hanged, shot or whatever that need be done to make him die.
he killed 250 people by bomb blast.the people sarfared because some of their father mother brother sister and children were killed .so he should punished but he should given death penalty he should die so eassily he should saffer.so the court has to deside correct judgement.
Of course he should not be given a death penalty. We must take an increasing stance against death penalty. In any event courts must be sensitive to the process of extradition. Let us not send wrong international signals. Our credibility would be at stake. We undertook internationally not to impose such a punishment. We must stick to it. The government is the law enforcing agency. We must trust it with its sensitivity. L.Ravichander
Some one once said that to break the law all you need to do is follow it to the last letter.
So if Portugal pre condition was that Abu Salem was not to be awarded the death penalty and there was no other way to get him to the book that is fine with us. My suggestion to the government is that put together a mob of people who had lost their loved ones in the blast and hand him over....They will take their share of Abu Salem and leave and technically he would not been awarded the death penalty by any Court of law. Or even better I urge the CIB to re define the concept of third degree...break a couple of important bones and more importantly break through the disgusting and destructive mind of his...or the easy way out is kill him in an encounter...Where are you encounter Dayashankar
First of all there should'nt have been pre-conditions of any kind. India should have remained firm with the Portuguese Govt. on his extradition, that they were dealing with a terrorist and there would be no concession of any sort on his trial. Abu Salem is directly responsible for the death of innocent civilians. He must be punished for his crime, there are so many people waiting for justice to this heinous crime.
I firmly believe that India should remain firm on capital punishment for Abu Salem. Also, all his associates should face maximum penalty.
India should stand firm on extradition of criminals/terrorists all over the world. If all countries cooperate and maintain such treaties then terrorism could be a thing of the past.
Such a notorious person who is responsible for the death of 250 Indians needs to be punished on the spot and should be given shoot at site orders instead of holding him. I request the government to take a firm decision in order to ensure that in future this kind of persons wont dare to attempt such assasinations.
Well, I think Abu Salem should be given death penalty. If Abu Salem is produced in the court with a pre-condition then the whole purpose of bringing him to court is defeated. Please remember that \\\"justice delayed is justice denied\\\" and in this case we have already been defeated on this account. It is high time that the judiciary system standup and give the appropriate verdict....be it capital punishment. We owe this much to the people who lost their loved ones in the bomb blast. This is turn will instill faith in the judiciary system of India by its citizens.
