Useless controversy
by Babu on Feb 06, 2006 06:49 AM  Permalink

Does everyone agree that there is no premartial sex in TN?

If anybody thinks that is none, then he/she is living hundres years backward.

This is a sad case of not allowing women of India to voice their opinions.

Arrant arrogance!
by Vina on Nov 25, 2005 12:18 PM  Permalink

It is arrogance that goaded Suhashini's speech!

She cannot speak on behalf of Tamils as a whole.

She has no such qualifications that make her as a venerable elder of Tamils whom all of us can listen to with reverence and respect.

She is just an actress but an expert in her profession.

If her father Charuhasan spoke in defence of Kushboo, there wont be any controversy...because of his place in socieity as a respectful elder.

Suhashini should understand her place!

Just a Loose Talk by Kushboo
by Thileepan on Nov 23, 2005 02:50 AM  Permalink

The whole controversy started when Thankarbachan made a comment about female artists. Manorama, Kushboo and team protested and Thankar apologised. I see that there is no difference between Kushboo and Thankars issues. Person A made a comment that offended Group B. Whether its Thankar or Kushboo - the rules are same. Democracy is excercising your rights without encroaching others rights and sentiments. When person A hurts the sentiments of person B he/she has violated the priciples of democracy. Please answer this question directly: Would you say to your sister/daughter/son "Having Sex before marriage is OK. You just have to take the right precautions". That to me is a careless loose talk. Kushboo's intentions might have been correct, but she just was not able to articulate her ideas properly. The subject being so sensitive i would have adviced Kushboo to prepare/think and then make responsible statements.

Responsibility mishandled!
by John Manoah on Nov 20, 2005 09:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Premarital Sex in India? I believe that should not be the case anywhere in the world! Sex plays a very tiny role in this vast episode of life.Life is more than sex! It's an intimate act between two persons joined together legally and mentally for pleasure and most important of all, the propagation of mankind. Sex can be healthy when it is inside the courts of the family and can have remarkable effects when handled in a noble way.

If sex was just physical, no one would have made this issue a big deal. But sex closely glues with morals too.No father wants his daughter to go about having sex. Even if she does, he hesitates to openly talk to others, because he feels its a moral issue for the entire family! Especially in India, women are respected because of their moral vow towards extra-marital and pre-marital sex. At this point a woman who is old and mature enough can teach and guide young women about abstaining from sexual sins. Most Indian moms do this.

Kushbu,a woman mature enough to guide other women in India to keep their moral vows by avoiding pre-marital sex.but on the contrary her advice was like urging them to waver from moral ethics and be safe from hazards!thatz crap!

RE:Responsibility mishandled!
by John Manoah on Jan 16, 2006 04:58 PM  Permalink
Even if Kushboo's statements were about those unmarried 30 year olds, the resolution should have been well thought before professing. On the other hand she took over the whole mass and tried to be their voice. I personally believe that every individual has the right to represent a mass with their ideas. But on doing that, they are should watch out for words, meanings and the perspective with the impact after pronouncing. This is where Kushboo lost. She had personal views which she pronounced on behalf of others which is condemnable.

Be it 30 year olds or 80 year olds, moral ethics and values drive human race. It's the only difference that keeps us apart from animals...

It is better to elicit the views of those unmarried girls and boys who could not get married and become parents even though they crossed 30 and who did not enjoy sex because of false notions of values and interpretations of sex, culture, traditions and restrictions and policing indulged by the family and society they are living in. They were afraid. They need to be pitied all the more because they are also simultaneously exposed to pornographic materials dished out in television, internet and cinema halls and posters.

Its a shame
by Laura carrot on Nov 18, 2005 04:40 PM  Permalink

Its a shame that people protest against what Khushboo said in an interview. What happened to the Freedom of Speech and expression that is a fundamental right guaranteed under our constitution ?
She only expressed her views, is a person not entitled to do that ?
We live in a hypocritical society where one is expected to have certian "values", which go agianst normal human behaviour.

Regarding remarks of Ms Khoosboo
by Ramji Gupta on Nov 17, 2005 11:44 AM  Permalink

I feel every expression of opinion should be taken in positive way. If it is expressed all the factors affecting the social structure, personality and direction of the flow of feelings can be assessed, discussed and finally individual can be able to measure its merit and demerits. No one should have right to impose his feels on others, because right or wrong is the relative terminalogy which changes from time to time.

Shameful
by Jaga on Nov 17, 2005 08:36 AM  Permalink

Brain less people, There are number of issues in Tamil nadu that are yet to be addressed.

Kush/Suhasini are right for their comments. Who is the custodian of the culture here? The politicians have more than one wife who protests her statements. The most stupidest people are the Tamil politicians who are job less now.

We support the views of Kushboo/Suhasini.
