Walk out!
by Infidel on May 18, 2005 03:22 AM  Permalink

I too think walking out of the UN is the best way to get noticed. This will be the best and most stunning way to show our rightful indignation. That way people will stand up and listen at last. Running around seeking support from tiny tot nations is not how we must do this. We deserve that seat and if dont get it the world must know the UN is a farce. If India walks out it means a fifth of the world'd population is unrepresented..democratic population. Imagine the impact on the credibility of the UN itself!! I infact think walking out of the UN in protest holds more rewards for us than actually finally getting a UNSC seat!

Argued for long
by rajiv shorey on May 18, 2005 03:08 AM  Permalink

I have argued for long that India should leave the UN , unless the security council is democratacised.

Now, the G4 , can walk out of UN together , if UN security council fails to democratacise.
Thanks
Rajiv

(DIS) United Nations!
by karigar on May 17, 2005 11:08 PM  Permalink

Agree completely...

What United Nations ? They are all looking out for themselves, any way.

We Indians are too dumb for the necessary Gamensmanship required.

excellent article
by praveen on May 17, 2005 07:57 PM  Permalink

a great article, with an innovative idea. its high time India gave up the begging bowl and demand its pound of flesh. the UN has just become a tool to legitimise US hegemony. but I wonder the spineless reptile that this govt. is, they tould have any guts to anything radical; and the less said about the historic blunders of nehru, the better. India as a country would forever pay for his blunders and his legacy in the form of nehru gandhi clan.

India and UN
by Gopal on May 17, 2005 05:30 PM  Permalink

I agree wholeheartedly. It is time India left the UN, time and again the West has shown that it only understands might and nothing else.
