Keep dreaming, Praful. You had made such prophecies a long time ago, even before the BJP came to power in'98. According to you, CPI had a smooth change of guard. That's easy. It's so tiny and it's influence so marginal, never mind it's disproportionate clout at the center, thanks to winning WB where they have traumatised the system beyond recognition. Transitions are always easy in such scenarios. Your daydreaming reagarding BJP's irrelevance can go on. At worst, presence of Lalu in the govt and with "support" of parties like CPI-M and CPI, it only has to sit back and be shooed into power. Don't forget the way the current dispensation came in. They shocked themselves in the process.
Here comes another fo your geriatric rumblings. Thanks for the excellent analysis that you gave. I like especially the statement that " RSS can win only 5 to 6% votes for BJP". The figure you got God knwos from where. It is clear that you deliberated for 3 days as how much percentage should you give.. and came up with this figure. Either you have absolutely naive regarding the organisation of RSS or from your Marxist spec you cannot simply see it. Anyways further comments on your articles will be waste of my time. But keep it up. Sometime we like to read such poor articles and laugh over the fact that Rediff still invites such columnists to write. Way to go Bidwai... come up with more vitrolic, insensible and tangential article. Your fans will be waiting :)
I couldnt be bothered to read this article. Rediff.com can check how many seconds I spent on the original article (less than 2 seconds).
Guess why?
I read the header on rediff main page, BJPs decline could be irreversible; and knew for sure it was going to be Mr. Kidwai (oops! Bidwai) doing a Mungerilal for his Paki/Communist/Mafia mentors.
All the best rediff. Coz now even though you get my hits in your count, your Mr. Kidwai could not hold me back to his crap for even 2 seconds. Hit you would get anyways, coz I would definitely read your dozens other articles. But THIS is certainly bad news for advertisers who paid for something (if at all) displayed in 'Paid-full Kidwai's' latest article.
It is incredible such flights of fantasy and blatant bias is printable by Rediff. If alternate views are the reason to have such ludicrously opionated writers, then at least choose those who are sane.
when Mr.Bidwai says "On the yardsticks of organisational coherence, ideological clarity, and political principle, the CPI-M scores way, way above its adversary on the Right." it does not equate BJP & CPI(M). While BJP is a struggle for the majoritarian identity strangely marginalized in its own land the CPI(M) is based on a hollow, alient, utterly failed, hypocritic, impractical and a lazy theory. If only people like the author who seem to capable of thinking had not followed in this doomed way this day an Indian wouldnt have to think 10 times before accepting to proclaim he is "Indian". But as it to signify end of the age of reason the world is getting more & more infested with this breed of progressive-secular-intellectual worms.
How can someone who believes in leftist ideologies be progressive, who predicts election results based on caste equation secular and who relish whenever India bleeds intellectuals?
The author has just outpoured his wishful thinking, more than the realities in the ground. Fissures between BJP, VHP and RSS are not anything new... and nothing to worry about in a democratic set-up. If at all such out-pourings are a worry, it is bigger for UPA than NDA! Just look at Bihar - Laloo on one side, Paswan on other and Congress on the third corner - all of them in UPA!!!
And the author quotes the 'smooth' transition in CPI-M. In my opinion, HK Surjeet should have retired 15 years back!! He held on to the post, literally till his last step before relinquishing it, by pulling a puppet out of his pocket - Mr. Karat! I wonder if 100 people will recognise Prakash Karat, if he appears in public anywhere outside West Bengal or Kerala!
Rediff should exercise some judgement in allowing such "columns" which read like party brochures, to be published!!
Isn't it high time Rediff stopped publishing the usual rantings and ravings of this anti-India commie? Mr. Bidwai isn't even up to date on his figures. He still continues to parrot the made-up figure of over 2000 muslims killed in Gujarat; when, in fact, 254 Hindus and 790 Muslims were killed following the torching of over 59 Hindus in the Godhra train (as stated by The Central government). What with these revised figures which show a fairly large percentage of Hindus were killed, and the complete reversals in the show-piece case of the Best Bakery murders, it is becoming obvious that Bidwai has no ground to stand on. So much for his idiotic ranting that the post Godhra riots were a 'progrom' by Modi and the VHP to purposely kill muslims. It is quite clear by now who REALLY is communal... No, it isn't the so-called Sangh Parivar. It is people like Bidwai who are willing to alter TRUTH just to give Hindus a bad name.
It is too premature to write off the BJP. People also thought that the Congress party's decline was irreversible. But look what happened. Congress did make a comeback by improving its tally in the lok sabha by about 35 seats. In the next election the people will vote against Congress and the BJP will increase its tally to 200 seats. With other allies, the BJP will form the government again. So goes the cycle!
