to dear students
by ashish sinha on May 11, 2005 02:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why do the students of manipur believe that being in unison with the nation is going to dilute manipuri culture. On the contrast the entire nation would benefit from the beauty of manipuri culture.

So my message to the students is, please attend classes, get good marks and do your parents proud.

India is progressing, lot of economic activity is happening. Please integrate well with the rest of the nation and bring prosperity to your state.

Manipur belongs to India , India belongs to Manipur.

Jai hind,
jai manipur.

ashish

RE:to dear students

Good Message, Mr. Ashish...Unfortunately, this message will not bring any change in the attitude of the seperatists in Manipur. The reason being, its not the Manipur culture in danger, its the power they are controlling by running parallel governments in danger. That's the sole reason of vending their anger on Indian government. Today's so called freedom fighters fighting for punjab,Kashmir,North East and the communist maoists are indeed power fighters. In the guise of attaining autonomy and independence, these f****** are fighting for power.

manipur burning
by r bandyopadhyay on May 10, 2005 07:35 PM  Permalink

there are serious issues not covered in the article which should have been adequately braught to surface viz. (1) job reservation for tribals of Manipur.Incidentally, other than a small community of Sekmai,Manipuries (hindu vaisnavites) have no sc citizens. thus most of the salaried jobs are being cornered by tribals. (2)no income tax relaxation is there for vaisnavite hindues known as Manipuries (3)how many manipuries have been posted in senior positions in universities, army, medical colleges, banks, union govt ,ministry of central govt?....it is not an issue of alphbet architecture...jodi dak sune keu naa ashe tabe ekla cholore

Combat Alienation
by kishor Jagirdar on May 10, 2005 03:15 PM  Permalink

Time has come for this nation to stand and face realities. On one hand we speak of integration and removal of poverty and on the other we are creating pockets Islands of prosperity that may get submerged during high economic tides of the "haves not".

Strong leadership at the center alone can check the alienation and the representation of people have to be on the level of grassroots.

While the southern states are prospering the north Eastern parts are actually living in the mediveal times in anarchy and fiefdom.

The POWER of education and employment opportunities can work wonders towards an egalitarian society.

The political think tanks today are more concerned of your owm agrandisement and constituency peppered with petty differences than as a nation as whole.

What we need ......the NCC and the NSS like organisations to be supported with the CORPORATE WORLD to create a model action plan for progress ,education, Job opportunities, health care, counseling to hit every village that kindles insurgency.

This is the way to show our youth the right path.
