Telephones in India
by PMChoudhary on May 10, 2005 08:32 PM  Permalink

Some statistical figures relating to teledensity and revenue per line from Inda and separately for Mumbai and New Delhi (i.e. MTNL)would have been of interest. Secondly VSNL part of Telecommunications in India has been left untocuhed
Rest of the feature is fine!

India Shining ;-)
by Vinayak Thakkar on May 10, 2005 06:27 PM  Permalink

A very informative and "feel good" article. India is on this trail right now where capitalist interests are taking over the socialists. And it is good to know that people are getting what they want now. Opening of economy has made this possible. All we can do is HOPE that this trend continues. The "babus" sitting in the policy making and executing seats become more aware of this and think of themselves as the servant of the country and not the GODS which they think they are right now.

Telephones

Rajeev's article on telephones is bloody right! Now if only the government and the politicians gets about being accountable for their (mis)deeds, this country will regain her former glory.

What about WLL plus cellular
by Shripad on May 10, 2005 10:58 AM  Permalink

Informative article. I do think that cluibbing WLL with landline may be theoreticaslly correct but is practically uninformative. What matters is the number of WLL plus cellular lines in total, as the consumer sees it as one product market.
