So, even before anybody - especially the reporter - knows any facts, I wonder why Rediff has baselessly chosen to label this incident as a sex 'scandal'? Have heart - and some journalistic principles. Avoid unnecessary embellishment/exaggeration/prejudice.
The very Headline ypou have given to the News item smacks of creating a sensation. The very fact that for the first time in India a Female Officer is being Court martialled does make News. As part of her Defence Mechanism she has used the ultimate weapon. Accuse the Prosecutors of Sexual Harrasment ( The defination of which is so wide that any one should think ten times before communicating with a Female Colleuge) !! I am not suggesting that its a wrong accusation but Why was she silent all this time??? Hats off to the Judicial system of the Armed Forces.A court of Inquiry will ascertain facts even if the accusation is from an Under Trial. After the facts come out ,The Armed Forces should review the very policy of inducting Females into the Armed Forces till the women in this country get used to being treated as Gender Neutral.
Sir, you are reporting in one women officer's alleged claims of having faced sexual harrassment in IAF .... and even if i assume for a moment that they are true .... you cant call it sex scandal in IAF ..... i am a student of journalism ... and i respect rediff for the columns n news items tht u ppl publish .... but this headline is irresponsible n insulting too
