Its true

I fully agree. The full episode showed us what is happening in politics and the real hourse trading episodes.

Both BJP and Congress wanted 5 independants. Congress still not mature enough to compete with BJP I think. All 5 were made ministers and God knows how much money have been transfered to them for the support. This is open corruption. Its not a question of who do it, congress or BJP. Its unethical to do these things. Why should top leaders like Mahajan, Jaitly, Venkayah and even Naidu escort them?

The governor is also not justified in inviting soren.

No heroes in Jharkhand
by Christodan Takri on Mar 30, 2005 12:58 AM  Permalink

I like your views and findings. You have not given any solution to save the democracy of India. If every one has committed some what mistake than who is responsible and punishable in this connection.India is a democratic country and each one among the mistakers can enjoy democracy even if they are mistakers and malpracticer. They are not condemned but commended. Therefore our Indian decracy is greatest among great. We can find fault and foul but fact remains the same and unchanged. No heroes mean every one is hero without victory.

Who exploits the system first
by Pawanpreet Singh on Mar 26, 2005 04:55 PM  Permalink

Unable to justify the Congress's action in Jharkhand, Mr Bidwai has tried to condemn BJP's ''strong-arm tactics.'' But one must remember that this was fallout of the wrong committed by the Congress. Mr Bidwai says that in 1977 Jan Sangh Government dismissed several Cong Govt. But the first dismissal of a democratically elected government on bogus ''law-order'' grounds took place in Kerala in 1959. Pt Nehru did this at the behest of his daughter Indira.Looking back into political history of India, one will realise that the system had been misused by the Congress first. It set an example that people later followed (obviously because there was no alterbative)
What could have been expected from Mr Munda, who had been given enough ground to suspect that the Congress and its allies would go to any extent to prevent him from coming back to power, despite the numbers. He had no option but to escort MLAs with him. Despite the BJP providing full protection to their MLAs, JMM and RJD MLAs were seen openly calling independents to their side during the cofidence motion test on March 11 (that did not took place)
Now next time if BJP misues Governor's post remember whom to blame. It's the Cong.

praful bidwai is well known anti BJP leftist columnist.he dismisses the well known and documented poor law and order situation in bihar as 'bogus',perhaps he has got documentary proof of intimadion and horse trading of legislators by NDA in jharkhand, and he is more wise than the president and honourable supreeme court judges in judging the good deeds of jharkhand governor, especially when every citizen was waiting for some (divine!) power to undo the blatant injustice done by sibte razi.
well done mr bidwai.

Jharkhand drama had no heroes ...
by True Blue on Mar 25, 2005 04:18 PM  Permalink

A bombastic and pompous article that reflects the callous opinions & intellect of its author.

The President and the Supreme Court displayed exemplary behavior in a situation where the Executive and the Legislative arms failed.
