Modi was there when Gujarat was burning. He assured it that it did not burn further. Visa of lots of Indians are rejected by US. That does not mean that all become disgraced.

Mr. Modi you have insulted India and indians enough
by saket on Mar 19, 2005 03:43 AM  Permalink

Will you be kind enough to just shut up for once. It is embarrassing how you are spinning this admonishing from US to your advantage.

It is NOT an issue of SWABHIMAN, where was your swabhiman when muslims were being slaughtered? Where were you when Gujarat was burning?

Please do not take entire India hostage to your personal gains. I revoke my right to be linked to you. Its is not an issue of my swabhiman, my insult or my country's. It was a decision taken by an independent Government (US), against you (NArendra Modi). I ask our government to stop wasting its diplomatic time and capital in saving you the disgrace.

This is the super power America. It has never made
sense to me. If anyone has any logical reasoning
for the actions that America takes and has taken, please explain.

Modi's US Visa rejection
by Deepak Kapoor on Mar 19, 2005 02:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

After 9/11 there was no mass rioting against Muslims in US, and this is Great.

Regarding riots in Gujarat, Indian judiciary and people will decide whom to punish.

And US can decide on who come's in or not. But the policy should be even handed.
US visa decesion on Modi's visa smacks of hypocrisy.
Airport authorities in Arab countries are known to confisticate any religious symbols or idols from innocent passengers. Heads of their states can visit US. Most of the terrorists behind 9/11 and all the money behind is traced to Saudi Arabia. Their heads of states get a royal welcome. Paks R&D chief smuggles nuke secrets to Iran, North Korea, and Gadaffi. Pak govt for decades supported and funded the Talibization of Afghanistan. Pak continues to have govt-supported madrassas churning out hatred against all non-Muslims. Pak continues to be breeding and training ground of terrorists.
President Mush of Pak is still welcome in White House.

RE:Modi's US Visa rejection

With regard to your first para, yes, after 11/9/2001 there was no backlash against the Muslims in USA, except for some stray incidents. Thanks God for that. With regard to your second para, do you think the Indian judiciary will be able to punish Narendrabhai for genocide in Gujarat? In fact, Narendrabhai has not cooperated with the judiciary, tampered with evidence and threatened witnesses, resulting in transfer of cases to Maharashtra. Even there, due to some inexplicable reasons, the witnesses are becoming hostile and changing their statements every now and then. Probably, Narendrabhai's goons have managed to threaten witnesses even in Maharashtra. With regard to your third para, it is USA's sole discretion whom to issue visas. Millions travel to USA annually and if Narendrabhai has been issued a visa it may be because he is a mass murderer, a mentally imbalanced person or anything else. Heads of States of Arab world are getting royal treatment as protocol dictates so. Whenever they do not serve USA's interests they will be chucked off like curry leaves. Got it! Something is wrong with Narendrabhai. Is he married? What are his wife and children doing?

Denial of visa to Modi
by KVTirumalesh on Mar 19, 2005 01:48 AM  Permalink

The denial of Visa to Narendra Modi by the US Government is shocking. The USA has no business to sit in judgement over other countries. Does George Bush deserve visa to India? In fact, he should be treated a persona non grata everywhere. Modi may have lapsed in his duties but he is not a perpetrator of any crime. Certainly, having burnt its fingers in Iraq, the USA is doing everything to appease Muslims. So, Modi becomes a convenient target.

Modi's agreed!
by varun on Mar 19, 2005 01:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Note modi's last line:
"How would the American government feel if the Indian government denies a visa to the US army chief because of what the US army has done in Iraq and Afghanistan?"

Looks like he is agreeing to what he did in Gujarat...kill innocents!

Modi did not kill innocents. Muslims were already threatening Hindus living in nearyby areas.
