Modi should be tried by a tribunal and if found guilty punished mercilessly. He represents all things what is against secularism, humanity and democracy. His was not a failure as a C/M but the criminalization of his rank.It is of utmost shame this person has bought to the country adding to it the US refusal to grant visa to an elected representative of a free country.I do condemn the US decision but for once I feel they are justified. It is so humiliating and unbearable to see a CM being refused entry by a country which is renowned for its mass murders globally, but nothing can be done about it, just swallow our pride. The Govt then and now should have tried This Modi fellow and seen justice done.BUT now to be shamed. The govt.should note never again any constitutional leader can be subjected to this,no matter what, the entire nation should would have to stand by,then again certainly not for the likes of Modi.
I'm not a BJP or Hindutva follower. Neither do I have any respect for Mr. Modi, who had failed to quell the Gujarat riots during his rule. But I'm and Indian who believes in democracy and respects the verdict of the Gujarati people who elected Mr. Modi to lead their prosperous state despite what happened during his previous government. For this alone he needs to be considered a leader of the mass and his being the head of a state government whould grant him the courtesies of a dignitary.
If America does not change their decision about the denial of visa to Mr. Modi, I think the Indian Government should return the favours in the same coin by denying Mr. Bush a visa for his impending visit to our country. There are reasons galore to deny him the visa. The most cruel and inhuman treatment of the Iraqi people alone would make him eligible for the denial of visa to any country for his whole life.
Let India show the Americans and the world what we feel about the U S atrocities committed on the Iraqis and Afghans.
We in Gujarat, are very proud of our Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Narendrabhai Modi.America has proved itself to be India's UNRELIABLE partner once again. They are absolutely selfish & a wee bit arrogant in their approach to such an extent that, at such times, they forget the courtesies demanded from countries like India. If, instances are naratted & examples given, it will show very poorly of USA. Has American Govt. forgotten the immense contribution given in the past & even today by Americans of Indian origin? Has it just not pleaded for India's help in Iraq during Hon. Condeleza Rice's visit ? Have they become so arrogant not to take note of India's great strides towards becoming super power in the not so far future(Inspite of all santions !!) ? I strongly feel, America has still got a chance to redeem itself.
Such is the nature of the matter, while on one hand being a CM and denied a Visa appears problematic, why do we have to make such a fuss over so called National pride etc etc.Thank god atleast someone has had the guts to put him in his place.Being a HINDU Indian myself, I was left with a sorrowing heart after Gujrat, where Modi etal cannot deny their indirect support to the perpetuators of the crimes. Further so many of more ORDINARY Indians have been denied Visa to the US, but who cares for them? And in anycase howcome a Hotel Association of America is SO IMPORTANT to a CM of India? Howcome Senators from USA dont come to India, for say, addressing McDonalds or Wimpy so on so forth?Atleast they keep their respect in tact. That also points out how our Public leaders use time and money, be it their own or Governments or private associations. Hey Mr.Modi, throw muck upwards, it is bound to come down someday...lets not waste any further time on such matters.
