Next time show same passion
by Jitendra on Mar 23, 2005 11:22 PM  Permalink

Shenoy,

Next time write about trouble in Madhya Pradesh and revold against Modi in Gujrat with same passion. Call it the saffron friends fighting for power cake. Also how Advani bends backward to bring in Uma Bharti who insulted him publicly.

whenever an incisive article comes out, those who cananot or dare not or afraid to face the truth start foul lingo - the best is to let them exhaust their energy and let the bakings go ob.

in the meanwhile, it is best to have honest debate go on

T V R Shenoy

I cannot agree more with the contents of T V R Shenoy's essay, but not with his screaming overtones. Does he think that it is such screams that make him a journalist?

Congressmen greedy as usual
by Sridhar on Mar 19, 2005 06:40 PM  Permalink

In TN people have always given very decisive poll verdicts since independence. Hence Karunanidhi was correct in saying that people will not accept a coalition Government in Tamil Nadu. As regards to accusation that DMK is enjoying power at Centre with Congress in a coalition set-up, it must be remembered that initially DMK was reluctant to join the Govt. like the Left but the intervention of Sonia Gandhi alone forced them to re-consider the decision. Hence Karunanidhi was correctly adamant in saying that not a single ministry will be shared with the Congress at the state level. Even in the present crisis, it was the PM and Congress President who finally persuaded the DMK not to leave the ministries by personally telephoning Karunanidhi and cajoling him not to leave the central ministries. If DMK leaves, the loss will be to Congress and UPA only and not to them.

Why are you hell bent on writing everything against the Congress. Stop doing this and I hope you have better things to do.

Our's is a big family and we will resolve our disputes ourselves, we do not need the media for this atleast.

Shenoys Article Who Cares?
by sudhakaran on Mar 19, 2005 03:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This poor shenoy is quoting some selective news to rejoice himself. His attitude is even if I get destroyed I am glad if some dirt fall on opponents. BJP is a nothing in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. BJP has 2 or 3 groups in kerala party, even if they dont have even a single seat in the 140 member assembly.

Modi got another slap on his face and BJP got "international publisity" free at cost of Modi. That dont bother shenoy. In Goa BJP got routed in local body elections last week (Peoples reply to Parikar, who tried to hold on to power even without majority). That dont bother him. Jharkand has a wafer thin majority. BJP MLAs have no posts left. In addition Advani and Venkayah had to personally escort all 5 with gunmen all these days. These dont bother Shenoy.

Congress is not going to get more than 40 seats nest elections in Kerala. So this is best time to end groupism and throw Karunakaran out. In Tn what happened? Jaya has thrown away BJP. They need somebody may be looking at DMK. I dont think DMK is not wise enough to go with BJP in TN.

By the way, what shenoy wanted to tell? I didnt get it.

With such friends whon needs foes
by s subramanyan on Mar 19, 2005 11:25 AM  Permalink

Congress would only grievously hurt itself if it treats the southern leader and aprties the same way it treats the northern satraps. Having said this, it must be admitted that the Karunanidhi-Elangovan spat has far more implications than the media and analysts have tried to portray. It is difficult to understand what prompted the tallest DMK leader to show a great affront not to garland the portrait of Periar -the grand unlce of Mr. Elangovan- at the recent Dindigul conference. Mr. Elangovan may have been sacrificed by the Congress leaders who think that it is better to outsource MPs by cultivating regional leaders paying the 'political price'prevailaing at the relevnat time of elections than to cultivate their own leaders over a period of time and thus ensuring their own strength to grow long term.
Wait and watch therefore for the developments of 2006 when more elctions are due to find out whether saner politics prevails.
