modi means not India, in anyway the denial of us visa to him related to Our India and Indian constitution. simply an oridnary citizen will get visa. why the cause. he is the mastermind of gujarat riots.
First of all, if grounds of rejection are to be taken on merit, then none of our policticians including many corporates cannot enter US, then why only Modi is pointed out.
Also, If role of Modi in Godhra is a known fact, then why US government (Bush admin) is deaf and blind on role of Pak Military and Prez Musharaf's role in terrorism in India, is Godhra incident bigger than wats going in kashmir for past 5 decades.
Lastly, were docs of those terrorists who attacked on 9/11 were scanned properly....then why visas were issued....is it tht US issues visas only to terrorits??
Should India not deny entry of any of the US based company, entrepreneurs and diplomats from entering India. Corporates like enron or arthur & anderson cause havocs still India never denied diplomatic entry to Ms. Rice. Certain big CA firms are already in the watchlist of RBI, has India ever broken ties with US "NO". Can this measure of overlooking protocols and denying diplomatic visas be seen as a retributory measure against India's statement that the enquiry for F-16 was only a letter of intent. Is this a repurcussion of US's failure to sell and cause arms race in the south asia. having concrete example of Vietnam, Japan, Russia, Afganistan and Iraq the question is "WHO IS THE WORST ENEMY" and who should be penalised the "KNIFE" or "THE MAN BEHIND THE KNIFE". What is the basis of cancelling a tourist / business Visa which is purely a personal matter. Show India one case against MODI of causing riots or killings done by MODI. Why to penalise MODI if he has only failed in his efforts to control such riots which were probably masterminded from abroad. Was the loss to life and property more than that took place in Vietnam or Afghanistan or more recently Iraq.
This Self-appointed Police men for Planet Earth is going beyond the limits..Does they law permit Mr. Musharaff ??let us not cry for not permitting rather ..do they same when Mr Inspector(Bush) is expected to arrive anytime later next year..Can v evoke cancellation of all bilateral ties..??Government need to serious think over this has a last option.!!
Come on. "Addressing the motel owners association in usa" hardly qualifies somebody for a "diplomatic visa". Mr Mod i should not assume that just because he is a elected CM, he would get whatever he wants. US visa laws denies visa to any foreign official who "was responsible for or directly carried out, at any time, particularly severe violations of religious freedom.". Why should they change their policies just because Mr. Modi is a fairly(?) elected politician? US is not India.
Another instance of US' partisan decision making.. It has no right to evaluate the 'human rights violations' in other countries, especially when Mr. Modi has still not been specifically and formally charged in the riots case. I agree with the view that this decision of the US in an insult to India as a whole, as Modi's Diplomatic visa has been denied.. meaning they do not recognise a democratically elected bureaucrat.. another reason why we should stronly oppose US' policies.
Yeah right... butchering a couple of thousand people while the chief minister of the state and the law apparatus look on is about respect for the Indian constitution and denying Modi a visa is a threat to the concept of Indian nationhood. To be sure there is an insult in the elected head of an Indian state being denied a visa by a friendly nation. But there is a far greater insult implied to the Indian constitution by the very fact of a man like Modi being in power. If you allow a thug to be an office bearer of the state, you cannot afford to act hurt when your neighbours call a spade a spade and slam the door on his face. I never though I will find myself cheering the Bush administration's foreign policy. But on this occasion, they have got it resoundingly, stingingly right. Modi is a blot on the face of Indian democracy and now the hold world knows it. What's there to be so outraged about?
"The country has been insulted. We must give a befitting reply." No Mr. Modi, its not the country, its you who have been insulted. Atleast realize that the life of people are of much greater worth than you think. Why should you cry because you got your Visa rejected from US? You rejected people of their right to live.
US took the right decision, atleast what India, my mother country could not take.
