it would be good to give advice to people on what to do if in an eaerthquake; eg, stand in a corner of the building if you can not get out quickly, or get outside, and so forth.

Earthquake - The ides of March - 2005
by Jane G. Rodrigues on Mar 14, 2005 09:29 PM  Permalink

14.3.2005 - The Ides of March - 2005

I was sitting in my office, at Bandra(W), Mumbai, when I felt my chair tilting/moving to the right. When I tried to hold on to the table, for support, I felt the table vibrating also, I felt totally unnerved for a moment, and then I asked the rest of my colleagues, whether they felt the vibration, and they said they had. We immediately noted the time it was 3.20pm.

Just this morning, I was telling my husband, the house would be so quiet and peaceful, after our 4 kids were married and had moved away, but when the earthquake took place, my only prayer to God was that "if I had to die, I wanted to die with my 4 noisy kids and my husband around me, and at home".

God Bless each and everyone of you reading this message.

Love,

Jane G. Rodrigues

Can we relate the seismic activities???
by Suraag on Mar 14, 2005 08:42 PM  Permalink

I here like to give my thought that the earthquake propagates from east to west... that I have observed last year as well and now again this year after Tsunami's cause it has come towards the western side of India and might travel to gulf countries and till california... can anyone try to relate this ... is it just a coincidence or there is a relation ? if the relation is due to the plate tectonics then it is quite possible for predicting the earthquake which is the very dangerous natural desaster
Thanking You
