Kerala nun to become lawyer
by Albert Joseph on Jun 22, 2005 05:55 PM  Permalink

I live in Orissa. To my information there are several priests here who are practising lawyers. The decision of Bar council as it is alreday felt is discriminatory, prejudicial and gender biased. All women in India should fight for the cause as it is also a human rights issue.

Independence of a citizen
by Sumit Goyal on Jun 22, 2005 05:09 PM  Permalink

Hi,
Well I appreciate the work of the lady. I am not aware of the rules and regulations of a Bar Council but if a person having a law degree and no criminal cases against her, she has the whole authority to become a lawyer. And this is too against the independence of a citizen of the country.

I do not know whether my these comments may help her fight our but I really am in her full support.

Thank you
Regards

Sumit Goyal
