Why Siachin matters
by skjadhav on Jun 16, 2005 03:21 PM  Permalink

If you look back at Indian History we have won battes on the field but lost them on table.
History repeats and people who forget history are condemned to repeat it.unfortunately our political leaders are so obsessed with vote bank politics they do not have time and desire to study the country's welfare.
Md.Ghouri inveded India,Pruthvi Raj Chauhan defeated him and with mangnanimity allowed him to go back alive.Next time Md.Ghouri again attacked India, defeated Pruthviraj Chauhan shown no mercy and beheaded him.And with that the whole history of India changed.
The present day rulers are no different. They are waiting for another Md.Ghouri to come and rule India.
Can there be any other country in the world which has been inveded by Huns,Kushans,Mangolians,Muslims,Afgans,Turks,British,French,Portugese,Dutch succesfully?
It speaks of our National character.

Importance of Kashmir
by Alok Gupta on Jun 16, 2005 03:20 PM  Permalink

Hi,
It's very sad to say that our politicians dont understand the importance of Himalayas, kargil and Tibet. Where as the countries like USA, pakistan and China knows the importance if these area in future. These is the place from where the south asia can be controlled in terms of Military.
Its high time we civillians should oppose the decision of withdrawl of soldiers from siachien. We cannot trust our neighbouring countries.
Finally i would to say that in our school time we were taught that himalayas are like Wall protecting our mother land India from enemies for last thousands of years.

Thank you

why siachen matters
by Suresh on Jun 16, 2005 02:45 PM  Permalink

This article was one of the very few, which was clearly depicted and shows the lack of strategic India's capabilities.
What ever our politicians plan or do....its all for today and not for the future.Wish to see political leaders with a great vision in our life time!

Siachen
by Parul on Jun 16, 2005 02:21 PM  Permalink

This article only further asserts the point that Indian politicians are crap... they can't even do a clerical jon properly but b'cos of people like us who vote them .. they sit on suc h tactical positions. But the loss is ours ... there sons and daugthers never get into army they are are use to eating without sweating. But we put our near and dears ones at stake. Maybe a general should take over India with patriotism being the main forte ... just like musharaff did. And then teach all politicians and Pakistanis a lessons who fall in same category of liars.

Well Said
by Shant on Jun 16, 2005 02:09 PM  Permalink

The author deserves kudos. The politicians are just idiots and can't think straight. When we are not at war, we need to use diplomatics. Once started, 'Winning matters' . Kargil was a good chance. We missed it. No doubt that the military opposses the move by politicians.

by ANKUR GUPTA on Jun 16, 2005 01:59 PM  Permalink

I completely agree that its the selfish politicians who have used the country as thier personal property ,have doen what ever they wished ,are so weak to external pressures .It is a shame for us as Indians to have these "Netas" take decisions about our country.I dont understand why is our military so weak in front of these "Netas" . Why do our soldiers need to be the Scapegoats every time .
