by tanuj mishra on Jun 14, 2005 04:50 PM  Permalink

biggest drama yet i leaves an impoertant question.is jinnah solely responsible 4 partition.ofcourse not there were common man along wid him, hindu leaders were equally 2 be blamed .and now after so many years of independence except that india and pakistan r not the one and never can be.leave the thing of jinnahs secularism .today he is to pakistanis their founder.like we want respect 4 our country leaders frm others so they will like 2.and who the hell these political paries r.they r the one 2 ask vote on caste basis,on religion basis, they r the ones 2 make hindus and muslims fight.i just wanna say dont let these issues come in part of peace process.and political leaders should bring out issues related 2 common man and try 2 make this country progress.atleast thisis wat todays generation feel

The article is one of the most bold view from our journalism world on this hot issue. but still I believe that your view & suggestions are apt. I also feel Advani's comment on Jinnah was not with any intention of creating the peace history but it was a clear move to erase his own history in pakistan which I can say that he very cleverly planned. He is well aware that now BJP has lost its image & power not only in politics but from the hearts of Hindus who had a lot of expections from BJP if they would have got a chance to rule the country. but they did nothing even to keep the ineterest of communist Hindus. Now, as Advani knew very cleary that his political career is almost finish & he don;t need to bother about his leadership/party image/hindus, he just went to create the new scene in Pakistan.
He (Advani), who don't respect & accept Gandhi as father of nation in India where Advani lives a cherished life, how can we expect that he had given such comment with true heart of joining the two countries. Can muslims ever forget his participation in demolishing the Babri mosque, Today, when he realised Mr.Manmohan will definately find the way for peace, he is trying to be a partner.

Can'nt bargain for Jinnah!!
by Mihir Manjool on Jun 14, 2005 12:59 PM  Permalink

Author is dead wrong. By his logic, in near future, Mr.Daood Ibrahim will be presented as Internationally proclaimed, Indian born and Pakistani passport holder(far better then Advani) the most successful & smart Businessmen. He has been wrongfully accused for 1993 Bombing in Mumbai and forced to leave country.
In order to accept another culture or for the sake of fundamental mindshift no one should give up the genuine core value of someone's life. Pakistan is a total disaster and outlaw nation.. Their wrong doings are enormous. They are like violence against shiya Muslims, Himdus, Pashtuns of NWFP and people of Sindh. Nuclear Proliferation, extinction of Hindu populations, Terrorism in India and many many more.
Under the bull of accepting another culture if we forget all of these and paint this crimes with whitewash, what type of business it would be?
Balancing of plus minus is not the copy right of business only. It is the most integral part of every natural and human act. How many things will they giveup? Mr. Zuthvani forgot that he is not a Owner or CEO of a Business, he is a leader of a political part. He must discuss with many other BJP/NDA's leaders.

A sensible interpretation of Advani's controversial statements in Pakistan. I agree with him.
