Siachen for Peace !
by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on Jun 13, 2005 11:08 AM  Permalink

We need to keep on pursuing this idea. Peace has been the hallmark and high point of Indian spirituality. People and their leaders from younger nations across the world look up to the Indian subcontinent as a beacon of hope as they too try to search for peace, solidarity, concern and co-humanity. The honourable PM of India is guiding the largest democracy in the world with great distinction. We wish him well in is service to world peace.

You have done what no other indian PM has done. I am sure you will not do a George Fernandes and Our soldiers in Siachen would really get the facilities they truly deserve.

The Best PM we had
by Mehernosh on Jun 13, 2005 02:36 AM  Permalink

Its been years since we have had a PM like Dr.Manmohan Singh and its even more gratifying to know that he takes the pains to personally go to Siachen Glacier and look at the ground level situations for himself rather than rely on the corrupted beuracracy who would have given him doctored reports. He has a vision of peace and is a person who prefers to do things his way...hands-on. I wish that his dream and the dream of peace for millions of people takes place in his lifetime.

PM
by Ashraf on Jun 13, 2005 02:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is the first timea PM has come with such a clean slate and vested no interest whatsoever. Its a different story that he has to do things in a coalition which is not in the best interest of the country, but none can doubt his intentions.

I pray this team takes India on the path to to progress and the dream of turning into a superpower by 2020 - 25. Inshaallah.

Peace Mountain
by ali on Jun 13, 2005 01:09 AM  Permalink

The prime Minister wants it as peace Mountainand I want it to be the worlds highest playing field.Where three nations India,Pakistan and China can test the mettle of their mountaineers and skiers. They can always invite the curious Americans and their British cousins over for a good price.Let us turn the Siachen into AN EARNING FIELD INSTEAD OF A KILLING FIELD.Are you listening ?? Politician and Generals in india and across the border!

PM at Siachen
by Dr.K.Mohan pai on Jun 12, 2005 10:22 PM  Permalink

It is nice to see that our PM goes to Siachen and speaks of peace, some thing that has not happend for last 50 years. The credit also goes to Sri Atal Behari Vajpayee who boldly started this process against several odds. Unfortunately Pakistan is not yet trustworthy neighbor. Our men at Siachen have to be on vigil for some more timne or a long time to come. Our politicians have to learn to stop making defence matters as political issues and give more attention to fullfil the needs of our Jawans.
