Colonel (Dr ) Anil Athale (retd) has raised much din about "Ganga', a beautifully engineered Fokker Friendship aircraft of its time. But the hard boiled intelligence officials, it appears from Colonel's dark hints, were thinking of engineering of a different kind. And if what Colonel alludes to is true, what did their machinations amount to? First, total disregard for the safety of the civilian passengers aboard the aircraft. Second, probably just to establish their credentials, the next set of real hijackers had to kill the young bridegroom.

bro that's how a civilian thinks but a general thinks in different way. can we imagine how many lives they saved because of this operation?
In all we the people can only come to the conclusion that from what the colonel says, it is a very plausible theory and cannot be ruled out. only the facts of the war and the progress by the indian army in 1965 will reveal the truth, which unfortunately, i believe is not available to an ordinary mortal. we can only take pride in the fact that "MAYBE" such an event did occur and our intelligence agencies are much better than we think they actually are.
You are right. Your columns throws in the absolute right perspectives on the whole episode and your conclusions seem more like to be true. And yes. We sleep at night soundly just because we pride on the prowess of the Indian intelligence.
Does anyone care for the loss of lives during partition, division of families. Sacrificies al-around. Just think what we have achieved being indepandant. Hate, poverty misery for ordinary people. Give peace a chance and care for the most needy. ORDINARY PEOPLE. who comes first. Our future generations well being or hate and war. I will leave you with some thoughts. akhtar
i would go a step further and ask wether we had managed to compromise yahya khan to open the 71 war at a time, place and manner of our choosing ? was noor jehan a raw agent?
this article confirms what many had suspected- firstly if pakistan had the indian army plan- why did it not win the war? secondly all this is nothing but a publicity stunt to promote mr ayub's upcoming autobiography
ps- if the reasoning of this article proves correct it only shows mr gohar's father ayub khan as a gullible .......
This is yet another feat of the Indian intelligence..than is constantly fighting battles of wit against our current and prospective enemies to save us...hats off to our intelligence agencies..
