It needs more intensive analysis
by Rahman Nasir Uddin on Jul 13, 2005 11:23 AM  Permalink

The title of the paper is attractive but the content doesn't appeal as expected. It needs more intensive assessment to understand the communalism and secularism in South Asian nation-building and policy framework. South Aian states namely India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have been come in light in terms of communalism and secularism. But, intensive and sustantial research work has yet to be undertaken in this region. This artile contains the issue but adresses in less significance.

Rahman Nasir Uddin, Bangladesh.

Nandita,

May I know which court has said that the Traint wasnt attacked from Outside? If you are confusing Laaloo\'s enquiry with that of court then no one can help.

So better check your own self and the secular chamchas before name calling others.

Mem,
Your article is eye opener. I have found hardly one or two Journalist who has courage to write such truth. I have never found single paper who publish real truth like this. I appreciate rediff for courage.

If we check reply messages from people of other religion, I still find that most them still feel that train was not burnt by group of people rather there was a fire b'se of cooking inside the train. This is called height of blind love for their own religion.

Ms kanchan, this article looks more like a pro-BJP propaganda to me.What are u trying to prove by negating the fact that communal violence in Gujarat was 'the worst in modern Indian history'.Everybody knows why the situation in Godhra went out of control. You may be a pro-BJP person but keep that opinion to urself....don't cover it with the veil called 'secularism'.

Article from a Sangh Parivar website?
by Afzal Aziz on Jun 06, 2005 05:58 PM  Permalink

when it has been proved in court that the train couldnt have been burst from outside, then how come Kanchan Gupta use the words

"hindus travelling by the Sabarmati Express were roasted alive after their coach was set ablaze by Muslim fanatics"

First of all when I was going through the article, I doubted when I am really in Rediff or in a Sangh Parivar website.

Kanchan Gupta, where did you get the info that 254 Hindus and 790 Muslims were killed in the post-Godhra riots in Gujarat. From the same Gujarat government who supported the riots?

Definitely there had never been such a barbaric act like the Godhra riots in Gujarat in which even a mother's womb was burned.

I had always seen that there had been always a cunning effort by the Sangh parivar outfits, to distort the facts in incidents in which they themselves are culprits. This article is one among them.
