Useless Scientists
by Venu Angireddy on Jul 29, 2005 05:34 PM  Permalink

I do not understand some of these stupid people becoming scientists. India needs electrical power in its economic growth. Mr. Singh(PM) is doing such a great job. Most of these stupid so called scientists fill there pockets while a middle class family works hard and pay taxes. We should put all these scientists in jail who can not agree on improving India's life style. Please Mr. Singh, we need nuclear energy and I as an Indian citizen agrees for binding with US in getting Nuclear Energy Reactor asap, which can provide farmers, civilians, industries unintruppted power. All the best.

Unfair Criticism Of PM on US India Nuclear Deal
by R.Sundaram on Jul 29, 2005 05:33 PM  Permalink

More people like Dr. Gopalakrishnan should write and speak to dispel the doubting thomases and arm chair experts. As some one said, people who have had a hand in progressing this case to avoid a continued stand off with the US,including the spent fuel Brijesh Misra are up in arms only to score brownie points with the opposition. It is a fact whether it is in Defence Resarch or Atomic Research all the tall talk of self reliance and self sufficiency is bunkem. Our scientists have shown that they could never achieve cross the threshold of protype to the critical level of application. Fast Breeder Reactor was conceived in 1972 launched in 1985 and is yet to see success. We have no design in power generation to match the economy of scale currently adopted by the West. We do not have much Uranium left. No body in his sane mind will object to the current if he takes even a cursory look at our energy requirements for a burgeoning economy. Perhaps beggars cannot be choosers may be too harsh for the left politicains and the entrenched scientists to stomach. If wwant sterling soverignity we should make an example of those who sold us visions and dreams.
