Religious fervour
by shivkumar on Aug 04, 2008 08:10 AM  Permalink

Most of us Hindus have various festivals to celebrate. Some of these festivals are attraction at some particular temple where devotees congregate in huge numbers. There are many other people who do not have any inclination for paying their respects to the presiding diety. Such people mingle with the crowd and rob, con the gullible into parting with the money and have some fun with the ladies. These anti social elements also spread rumours if they are in some difficulty or a chance of being caught and thus start the stampede. Such things cannot be stopped till people realize themselves that going to places where there will be mass gatherings, should be avoided.

Nature Fury
by Kunuthur Srinivasa Reddy on Jul 30, 2005 10:43 AM  Permalink

It is very sad that human fear has over taken all calculations and imagination. It is composure and stability that is called for in using our presence of mind in such circumstances realizing the fact that death is inevitable for every one of us and face it with courage and conviction as after all destiny drives every thing in the universe. It is a practical philosophy if not a reality. The incident also reveals the urgency with which water bodies on earth such as lakes, rivers, streams, tanks and other storage structures should be restored, protected and maintained all over the world. Where as human greed for land occupation has been a death blow to such water bodies all over the country. Let us learn the lessons at least after witnessing the nature's fury, an all time record in the history of India. Earth quakes, Tsunamis,Droughts,Floods are conspicuous indicators to make the humans humble as to protect the nature and avoid pollution.
