what did you do with that water?
by mithil on Aug 11, 2005 10:59 PM  Permalink

i hear people saying thank god it rained atleast we have water...well let me remind them that they did not use that flood water to drink, bath or clean their back sides...so whats all that thanks about...the flood water was just wasted! Ever heard of rain water harvesting... i guess not! Secondly it flooded because all mumbaikars know to do is crib and throw plastic out of any wnidow they see, be it train, merc or maruti 800. And like no magic that same plastic choked the drainage (what ever little was available) and made mumbai water tight... this time the water was in not out.

No wonder the trains stopped and people had to wade through chest deep water to reach places...if we dont improve this will happen year after year and more than once a season....so decide between improving your habits or facing this fluid every year from this year onwards.

In simple words- improve of drown yourself. keep the city clean or lose your children to diseases...next year your child might not be luck enough to reach hme safely in a follded city...think about it if you care..

Reliance Mobile- the True Friend in need- Thank You
by Anurag k on Jul 28, 2005 07:08 PM  Permalink

Would like to Thank & acknowledge the support of Reliance India Mobile & Fixed line phones we got during the disastrous rains.

Reliance phones were the ONLY phones working all night & day and who helped us stay connected with my family & friends in this critical time.

On the other hand my Orange & Airtel phones were the first to go down.

You were there...when i was on the road for hours trying to get to my child in school & my family back at home.

Thank you Reliance ....keep going, we are always with you, to see you as the Mobile & landline leader in this country.

The rediff team...pls make sure this message reaches the Head of Reliance infocomm & is

Pledge

On Dec 26, Humanity was rudely shaken, our vulnerability stood exposed

The sea twisted a little bit, because it was in pain,

And we couldn't believe the consequences.

Again on July 26,

nature cried her heart out

to the city of Mumbai

and we only cursed her in return.

Let us take a pledge,

that we will reduce the damage

we inflict on Nature

both directly and indirectly.

Issued in the interest of mankind

Ramkumar R S

How can we averted this damage
by Kaleem on Jul 28, 2005 12:01 PM  Permalink

This incedince brings the fact to light that India has all the advanced technologies to our disposal, but we still do not have the vigilent approach to avoid such incidents !

Why can't we avert the damage ?

Would a warning from Meteorological department have helped ?
