well i went to college in the mornin thinkin that it was a normal day with a lil bit of rain here and there(little did i know what was in store). at arnd 3.30 pm our lectures were called off because of heavy rains.By the time we reached the station the trains had stopped.so we decided to take a bus.we waited at the starting point of the bus for abt 1 and 1/2 hrs only to get a jam packed bus. somehow two of my friends and myself managed to get on the bus while the rest of my frnds cudnt get on.as fate wud have it the ones who didnt get on the bus were the lucky ones!we took 2 and 1/2 hrs to get frm opera house to kemps corner. after a 4 and half hour bus ride without a seat for most of the journey we managed to get to dadar. and frm there we walked all the way to mahim to the hindustan times office(which is where my friends sister works) n v spent the night there.as a matter of fact i am still stuck here with the HT team.v r havin fun here n r gettin prompt updates(whaddya expect v r in a newsroom!). the place is totally hillarios.the ppl here are sleepin on their computer desks, on their chairs, etc.every now and then we get stories bout ppl tht left y'tday n r still on the way!!

I...alongwith my college friends had planned a trip to kanheri caves, at the sanjay gandhi national park, borivali. The trip was almost certain at 11 am on Tuesday. But then, somehow, due to some reason, other than the rains (it wasnt raining at that time) our trip got cancelled.. Later on in the day, we all realised how lucky we all were that the trip got cancelled..because a few of us stay at long distances from borivali..and would have got stuck up..All of us are at home now...feeling lucky...but sorry for many others stranded in the city...
Myself in Nasik. My husband is employeed in MSEB (Mumbai)..at BKC. He stays at Chembur. Its approximately 10km distance between BKC & Chembur.Everyday he & his collegue go to office by bike which takes approximately 20 - 25 mins.... Yest. by 3pm he phoned me to inform tht there is heavy rain & all locals ,etc. have been banned...So he & his collegue came out of the office by 4pm...As soon as they came onto the road saw tht the roads were flooded upto their back....And so fortunately they couldn't drive the bike...It was infact completely submerged into the water...So both of them had to pick up the bike and walk along the waters which took them 6 hrs (to cover 10kms..)to reach Chembur ...They reached by 10pm... Just imagine what a tough time they might have gone through....Now also i am not able to contact him to his cell as the mobile networks are not restored...Anyway he didn't go to office today....and even the Maharashtra govt. has declared a holiday today...
Hope by atleast tommorrow Mumbai comes back to the original phase...And even i am praying so that those people who got struck at various places are safe....Especially the children ,GOD BLESS ALL.

First of all i have no such words that could describle 25th June '2005,I left from my office in Andheri at around 2.30pm,hoping that i could reach Thane as early as possible.I reached Dadar at arnd 3.00pm and watching the plight there, for a moment i was stunned as what has to be done now.As much as innumerable persons were stranded with a hope in their face that atleast they could see one local train coming towards them, but all were in vain.Standing in Dadar stn for abt 4 - 5hrs i thought instead of being stranded here will go to my friends house there. The most pathetic situation was looking at those school children and helpless old people whom i could not help as myself was helpless at that moment.Thou i did so by giving them some biscuits and other stuff, but nothing more could be done. Now also i am helpless sitting at my frieds place and sending this message. I really feel pity and pray that there should come some solution for all those to comeout of this drastic situation.. MAY GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I live in Chennai. Since Tuesday noon I have been closely watching the television news and rediff website for latest news about the flood situations in Mumbai. I am very much worried about my two dear ones who live in Central Mumbai. Since the phones are are not functioning and as power supply has been snapped there is no means for to get across to them. I just hope and pray that the little ones and my dear ones are safe.
Well, this was my first monsoon experience at Mumbai, I came to office at around 1 pm yesterday and still continuing . Its 6:00 am and Its still raining outside. I am sure i cant leave from this place in such condition and I will have to continue the whole day. Some of my collegues who left yesterday evening are still , yes still on the way to there home. Its around 12 hours since they have left. My cousin who left nariman point yesterday at around 5 is still on the way .. Well , but mumbai as usual continues to run n run , It has proved once again that its the most hard working city in India. Well , Hope everyone reaches his /her place safely. better late than never....
