NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
by Srinivasa HV on Dec 21, 2006 04:30 PM  Permalink

Hai, I really dont understand the need for the deal. Do you all remember the sanction imposed in 1998 by us(No respect for that counntry) on India. See the after effects. Indian Economy grew like no one in the world. Also America believes in Neo Economics. Thats why they tend to shift focus on the country that will be beneficial for them in future. They are such Bastards that you can never believe them. Suddenly if they impose sanctions against India then what will be implications? Back to square one. Never will America think of doing it as they are more dependent on India than we are. Nonetheless, they are afraid of loosing India to Russian side as India will be major force in future. because many countries have loost faith in American Administration and also for this reason us wants India on their side. Remember: its better to loose nothing than loosing something in search of gaining what is not known. America wont have much influence in future and India is the one that will hold the forte. So best to stay away from American Tactics. Never believe them. It will be a wise decision to backtrack. Be a winner even after loosing. Daredevil Success manthra. India has nothing to loose.

What we can do
by Rakesh K on Feb 17, 2006 01:25 PM  Permalink

hi....
The information provided is good but not clear i.e. they could have provided statistics. One more thing the entire article goes in keeping U.S. in mind. You can provide and think of other alternatives where we can solve this nuclear issue. U.S. is the not only country in the world. Why cant we find out if there is a possibility in long term by BRIC countries co operating with each other in this aspect.
Just leave U.S. in this aspect and think what v can do. India,China and many other eastern countries are developing in a drastic way. Just dont give the chance to US once again to take an upper hand on this.Think of this........... Proud to be Indain

We could do without US Nuke cooperation
by CS Muralidhar on Feb 16, 2006 04:10 PM  Permalink

There is little to gain from this much trumpeted treaty. The fact is US is no longer a leader in civil nuke technology. Over the last 20 years American civil nuke program has gone into wilderness. No nuke plants were built for generating power. Existing plants are either running at minimum capacity or have been shut down. Many plants under construction were mothballed halfway through construction. Universities hardly produce any research papers of worth. The Energy department is not funding any major civil nuke research. Admissions to Nuclear engg courses are closely monitored by tbe State Dept. Hardly any worthwhile nuke talent exists in academics. All nuke research is done in Federal laboratories towards weaponry technology for Neutron bombs, low-yield bombs, laser guns, etc. These garner mega bucks running into hundreds of billions.

On the other hand Indian scientists in bthe last 25 years have developed major breakthrough civil nuke technologies such as fast breeder, thorium fuel production, etc. These can neither be publicised nor patented for IP protection. The best thing will be to defer US offer and develop our technology to ultimate finesse quickly.

Do we need the nuclear deal?
by Dr.Rajendra Nayak on Jan 18, 2006 09:03 PM  Permalink

India is a unique country with sunshine for atleast 8 months. Why this energy is not utilised? Simply invest in the research along this line rather than wasting money on useless research projects sanctioned by UGC, CSIR, DST and other funding agencies. We lack a will to uphold the tricolour but stoop down to others to help us.
Biotechnology can be used to break down the enormous garbage to produce Methane and other gases useful as a source of energy. Alcohol production can be also used to reduce oil import.
Along the shores we can have windmills and the builders of different projects should be given insentives to start windmills at their projects. The batteries used should be upgraded and the research thrust can be along this line too.
Just begging for nuclear technology and get insulted may be a casual affair for politicians but not to all the 1 billion Indians.
People are ready to invest and have money to invest but due to bad policies nobody is interested in generating electricity because there may be a condition tomorrow that one should subsidize for particular region and community and who will invest in changing policies.
Let us invest along the lines cited above.

Why US ? Its a shame
by janmejay on Nov 05, 2005 09:36 AM  Permalink

I completely agree with the chinese view that US is using India and we the people of this great Nation are doing nothing in stopping that. We were, are and will be a self sustaining nation. We have done it till now and we will do it for ever. We defeat the whole notion of non-violence with this nuclear pact, condemning the spiritual roots of our nation. We should admire the Canadians and follow the same path of non-violence. We have shown the world what we are capable of, in terms of technology and power, both in terms of knowledge and people and we do not need a war monger nation to show us the path to future.
