Regarding the article
by Md. Ajmal Baig on Jul 10, 2005 12:38 AM  Permalink

Hi!
The present chaos in the european world is the result of the past steps taken against the community and the disrespect given to the religious feelings as a whole.
If the world is not gonna take steps against the responsible nations then these blasts'd continue.

World Peace must think about it for the existence of the coming generation.

Who did it?

I am surprised at the "obvious assumption" that London bombing has been done by Muslims. The investigators have yet to say anything about the identification of the perpetrators of this crime.

While the natural law of justice is 'you are innocent unless proved guilty', unfortunately in case of muslims it changes to 'you are guilty unless proved innocent'.

Terrorism is not Jihad
by citizen on Jul 09, 2005 11:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Mr. Raman,
Your analysis is good. However, I strongly object to the indiscriminate use of the phrase 'jihadi terrorism'. Jihad is a pious concept in Islam. If some misguided people are (mis)using it, that doesn't mean that we should also follow them. After all, we never called LTTE as Tamil Terrorism or IRA as Christian terrorism or Gujrat genocide as Hindu terrorism. Terrorism doesn't have any nationality or religion. The terms like 'Islamic terrorism' or 'Jihadi terrorism' are created by western media and unfortunately Indian media has picked that up without any thought.

Thanks

5-point formula for Humanity instead of countering terorism
by John on Jul 09, 2005 12:52 PM  Permalink

Dear sir,
Having read yuor artilce and the 5 points suggested there in are an outsider's view of the muslim problem. The so called champion of freedom and democracy The great American Administration has to itself practice some very basic of the principle democracy.
1. Freedom for all human beings on this planet. Inatead of fiefdom.
2. Democaracy for all not demon crazy.
3. Liberation of poeple from the clutches of Govenrments and rulers known for tyranny and cruality against the ordinary people.
4. Elimination of poverty, help for the orphans, destitute women and children around the globe.
5. Elimination of HIV and AIDS.

5.

5-lessons etc
by C D Pereira on Jul 09, 2005 12:03 PM  Permalink

All this scholarly analysis is OK.How is mankind going to find the means to modify the conduct & behaviour of the stronger & the mighty?Even the UNO which came into existence only to lead humanity into peace has not succeeded in averting wars & genocide in diverse regions of the world!
2.Is the perpetration of terror an inevitable consequence of the prevalent tensions between the more prosperous societies & the poorer one's.
3.If this explanation is extended extremism/terrorism will stop at nothing to exact it's toll of 'revenge' without observance of any rules or conventions. In this context it is frightening to visualise a scenario in which the die hard extemist can put together a crude nuclear device which can cause enormous radiation hazard to innocent lives!!
4.It is time mankind stepped back from the precipice & heed the wise counsels of peacemakers ; Was not His Holiness The Pope John Paul II right in expressing his disagreement with the US intention to go to war in Iraq? Upon his death all World Leaders went to the Vatican to mourn his demise & pay their last respects. Why did they not care to show respect to his persuasion to avoid war?
5.In the wake of the London bomb
