You cry first
by Anand on Jan 25, 2005 07:48 AM  Permalink

Sadly, ut becuase a few powerful events happened does'nt mean Hinduism is going down the drain. Firstly people like you who just see what the media wants to see are the people who should be ashamed.

Secondly "All that glitters is not gold" and some of the so called Hindu leaders are'nt what they are.

Hinduism is living amongst the people who beleive in Hinduism as a beleif and not as a relegion. THere are factions in India that commit atrocities in the name of hinduism that does'nt make them Hindus. Tey are no different from the Al-Qaeda terrorists and their jihadi movement. So don't jump to conclusions because a few people are doing the wrong thing.

Sankaracharya in question is not a true hindu spritual leader and he's probably one of the few leader that has so much Political power that he can become the next prime minister if he wants to.

You probably dont understand Hinduism.
by Prasanna on Jan 25, 2005 07:22 AM  Permalink

With all due respects, I would like to tell you that the greatness of Hinduism can neither be destroyed by Hindus who enslave to serve other religions nor christians who convert to spread themselves nor muslims by increasing their population. Neither Sri. Sri. Ravishankar or any true Hindu leader are in the process of collecting mass support. They are in the process of awakening the spiritual wisdom in oneself. True "love" has no religion "barriers". Hinduism has digested centuries of onslaught (if you may call so) and continues to dare the world to do so. In the western world, they use terms like "Guru","Karma","Yoga" etc. They patent our scriptures, art, antiques, yoga and make billions out of it. Is hinduism digesting western religions or not? In my view, "All Brahmins born to Brahmins are not Brahmins and similarly all Hindus born to Hindus are not Hindus". Those people who lead the life of being "universal souls with unconditional love" beyond all barriers are only Hindus. Hinduism does not need guardians for its survival. It just needs one last good person on earth to be leading true "spiritual life" whereever he is, however he is and whatever religion he belongs to.

It is an irony that people who are born out of our country have to preach and tell everything to us and even rule us always !!!

whaaat? Mr Francois Gautier

Mr Francois

Which civilization do you belong to? I cannot but be agasht at your views . You speak like an ill informed right wing foot soldier. One who is kept in the dark by his mosque breaking masters.

True Benny Hinn is a mass hypnotist with zero credibilty , but to see a religious conspiracy by involving Sonia gandhi is a bit tooo far fetched. Mr hinn was in india even when the BJP was in power .The almighty Bal thackeray was a special guest at that "healing" too.

Its rather humorous and shocking to read your article. Next time before you write.. THINK

Rejoice My Beloved India!
by Raj. on Jan 25, 2005 06:38 AM  Permalink

400 years of mughal rule.. 100+ years of british rule.. numerous missionaries.. none of them could shake the foundation of hinduism.. Benny Hinn is just a speck in the sands of time..

I can give you numerous philosophies and 'case in points'.. its not worth it.

Rejoice my beloved India, for your foundation is based on an unshakable faith, culture religion. As Gandhi once put, "I love Christ, but I am not sure of Christians". If one is converted to christianity or any other religion purely based on one mans insistence; well this is really good for hinduism as it weeds out the weak and the ones who did not have the faith to begin with.

About the other events depicted, it is democracy in motion, it is justice in motion. If so many christian priests in the US can be de-frocked/sued/jailed over sodomy and the world only appreciates, why should there be a question on holding up Kanchi-seer. If he is guilty then so he shall pay. Justice has to be delivered.

Rejoice My Beloved India! You have nothing to be ashamed of, for there is a lot more good in you than the few blemishes highlighted by the author.

- Raj.
