I am ashamed to read this article on an Indian website, by a foreigner, on the so-called "Death" of Indianism... which the author very cleverly doubles up as Hinduism. India, as a country, is known for its open-culture, and welcoming gesture for one and all, for where else would you find a Sikh PM, with a Muslim President, when both these communities together do not even compose 15% of the Indian population??
Is it not the high stature of India, when leaders like AB Vajpayee, whom Francis derides for being one of the worst, are heralded as being the stalwarts of honest politics in a decaying Indian system?
Politics does seem to be the apple of discord for most of the Indians, as perceived by the world over, but nevertheless, it is exactly facts like the arrest of the Shankaracharya (though the timing is debatable) for his hand as an accomplice to murder that help re-instate faith in the system, that it still might work.
The US President takes oath on the Bible. Well, in India the leaders of the State take oath on the sovereign Constitution of the Republic of India.
Surely, India will outlive all these temperory problems, like the sun outlives all clouds that cover it!
1.First of all if even "GOD" does crime he has to be pulled down from his thrown of GOD. and offcourse shankaracharya should be pulled down from his most respected post of Hindu faith, "iff" he has done crime! and for ur kind attention Mr.Francois, he is just a suspect of crime. and i think doing invistigations for crimes is not a crime! how the hell politicians' corruption is related to shankaracharya's case! And if u have some proofs abt politicians go & lodge a complain; they will face same what so called hindu leader is facing!
2.We remeber the stories of riotes as sad past. and let me tell u, indians feel bad about muslim deaths as well as hindu deaths! If our friend is dead , we feel bad for loosing a "friend" and not for loosing a "HINDU" or "MUSLIM" !!!
3.don't u dare Mr. to say anything like that abt our prime minister and our president. If religion is the key then who the hell u r to sugest us! "Bandar kya jaane adrak ka swad"! u know Mr., they both are most qualified leaders in history of india. They can do best to india than any religious leader.

Yes, the Benny Hinn stuff is deplorable, but I think his mass hysteria type of 'healing' will not stand the test of time anyway. Even the anti-Hindu English press was questioning the veracity of the claims and the process used to select the sick ones for healing. TOI has carried a report on how people are feeling let down etc.
Though my heart bleeds for the situation of the Hindu in India, I also feel that the self-styled protectors of Hinduism like VHP, Bajrang Dal have loused up all their chances. What the Hindu wants today is a display of sane, mature leadership that will project the greatness of Sanatana Dharma. No one wants the trishul waving frenzied mobs that these people try to enthuse to fight for Hindu rights. I think the Hindu should display a more mature and decent way of expressing his ire and disgust at Benny hinn type events, instead of effigy burning hordes disrupting normal life and causing mayhem to public property. This only alienates the mature Hindu fromm these groups indulging in such fracas.
We need a strong, disciplined, mature, self-confident leadership that does not look for cheap & trivial issues to get in the limelight.

Let is suffice to say that the loss has been yours and you alone are poorer by experience. However, I would agree that what you state are "stand alone" facts. Its like saying I am on the chair, the chair is on the floor hence I am on the floor!!

Today India's is in a sorry state because of its unloyal citizens working in the Government, Police Force, Law and Order and Self-Centred Politicians and Political Partys. Latest is the SC Quota Scam. First we need to have our Electoral System corrected, then law and order, education and economy. I have sent few suggestions on changing the Rules of Election to Election Commission of India. Hoping to get a good feedback from them.
No Hindu finds it humiliating that Abdul Kalam is the president. No Hindu finds it humiliating that Manmohan Singh is prime minister. Indians are proud of them, they are doing real well!

With growth of 6%+, and only better times to look ahead to, crying seems a rather silly thing to do. For economic growth does trickle down to the masses; more jobs and more money - sometime down the line.

Yes, We have Manmohan Singh as prime minister from minority and President a muslim because its a real democracy not like what you have at home. We are proud of our Prime Minister and people who voted him in because we didnt see his Turban but his capability and his intellect..Thank God! we are not so superficial.
