Cry , my Beloved INDIA !!!
by Mohan on Jan 26, 2005 10:32 AM  Permalink

"I am a Westerner and a born Christian"

your first statement, you say it as if you are ashamed, are you ?

India is not a hindu nation ...

it is composition of different cultures, religions and numerous languages and RACES as well. We pride ourselves on that

I just can not understand what you are trying to say should we stay in medeival ages ?, so that you can admire our spituality, oh well maybe you want a spiritual holiday from your non-spiritual homeland ?

Spirituality lies in oneself not in external institutions or personalities, you do not loose it because external changes ...

Just because politicians manage to get favors and subvert the law it does not mean everyone we feel dear should also avail of the same benefit...things need to recitifies but what you suggest is not a solution ....

As for as Benny Hinn less said the better ... everyone is welcome here !!! even idiots promising miracles !!! as for as politicians they will go where ever they feel they will get votes .

Even i'am truly sad that i have read such stupidity but i guess that is democracy at work ... everyone can have a fair go ... even idiots !!! ...

Au Revoir (but pls do'nt come back)

Bereft of Ideas again are you ??
by ruxak on Jan 26, 2005 05:16 AM  Permalink

I daresay that you have used this same heading again. In any case you are not totally wrong. THE RABID FUNDAMENTALISTS in India who are on the down hill ought to cry.

If the Karnataka government had to be out in strength it was because of the grave assault on the guarantees of Art 19 of the constitution of the right to profess and propogate their religion - a fact that means nothing to you and your fundamentalist ilk. If the Shankaracharya is not guilty he will be released - even though a majority who believe that he is so and are maturely content to let the law take its course.

While the most of your article had the same repeat garbage you slipped up when you say - Quote It would mean the loss of India's ancient culture, the loss of its unique identity, with India becoming just another nation cloning the West. Even the Muslims and Christians of India, who are like no other Christians and Muslims in the world, would lose something Unquote.

Finally you have recognised that the Indian Minority of Christians and Muslims are different from the others of their type in the world - they are Indian.
Something that your paymasters have been neglecting to say for so long.

White Man
by Peter Christian on Jan 26, 2005 12:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If Indians should not listen to a Whiteman's (Benny Hinn) sermon then why should they listen to you. Why do you think we should read your articles and believe it. You also belong to the same race!! You may be a French Government secret service agent trying to bring communal tension in India and so sell more fighter aircraft and machinary to India!!!

BTW, Benny Hinn is a half Arab refugee from Israel and not a pure Aryan White like you. Are you angry with him because of this??

If you, a white man, have the right to convert to Hinduism from Christianity, every brown man also has the same right on this world to convert from any religion to Christianity. You can't deny that right to the poor Indian browns.

If you (a white french aryan) can love India, then Sonia (a white Italian aryan) can also love India, Benny Hinn (a half Arab/Greek) can also love India, Manmohan Singh (a brown India) can also love India.

I also cry for my beloved country India because its children have allowed a French to make horrible joke that 400 million Hindus follow sai baba, mata amrithanandmayi and sri sri ravishankar!!

Very well said! If this White "Christian" guy can become so involved with our culture and become a Hindu for all practical purposes, (although he might deny this), then by the same token, every person in India from whatever religion can change his faith based on their personal experiences....after that is what is called freedom! Otherwise, we would be like the Arab world!
And, by the way, there is so much talk about Benny Hinn coming and misusing the "poor Hindus". Shall I give you guys a tip? There were more people this year than last year who attended Benny Hinn's programme? How did they come there? And why did they come there again? If they already got a taste of Benny Hinn last year, and knew he was a quack(if he really was one), then why would they come again? Are Hindus(who comprised the majority of the attendance to his programme) so foolish? Come on! Thats an insult to all Hindus!
Anyway, well said Peter!

A westerner woories for the Indian affaires. None of his business
by Palayam on Jan 25, 2005 11:15 PM  Permalink

He's a westerner and a born christian. He's got nothing to do with Indian things. India is a secular state and the people of India elect the PM and the ministers. The PM could be a Sikh, Muslim , Hindu or a Cristian. But an Indian. Sonia was born in Italy but married to an Indian. So she is an Indian woman. That's all counts here. A westerner doesn't need to worry for the Indian culture and the community. Seems stupid.

I am upset
by naina on Jan 25, 2005 11:01 PM  Permalink

I appreciate Francois, being a westener for the concern he has for hindu religion. He is very right and he has told what was there in my mind. I am very upset to see my hindu religion disappearing. I am very upset for the injustice that is happening to my religion. Well, Kanchi seer has to be punished for his bad act, if he is guilty, but there are so many politicians who are doing so much of injustice and it goes unnoticed. I feel very sad for the innocent women and children who were burnt alive in Godhra, jus b'coz they were hindus. Is there no one to raise their voice and fight for this. I hope the day will come.

You forgot to add your name on the list!!!!
by Raj on Jan 25, 2005 10:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You forgot to add Francois Gautier (who belongs to a minority too)on this list:
Christian Sonia
Sikh Manmohan
Muslim Abdul

N'est ce pas ?

If you think that the fact you are married to an Indian gives you the right to criticize India and Indians (sorry I should say hindus), Sonia has the right to be in politics because she was was married to a former prime minister!
