5 killed after jawans push them

Sir, It is indeed a very sad news, but this is not the only first incident. I have seen Jawans drinking and harasing fellow passengers who has valid reservation and berth. jawans just get in any compartment saying they have warrents and occupie the reserved seat. They some time even misbehave with ladies. I don't think any Indian citizen expect these kind of behavior from our jawans whom we always salute for their unconditional work for the nation. Hope our higher authoritues do the needful soon. The best option in my view would be give/reserve a complete compartment for the Jawans and the rest for the civilians. Thanks

May be they could do with some training in civic sense!
by Booby on Jan 24, 2005 01:04 PM  Permalink

Even the senior officers travelling in higher classes do not show any consideration for fellow civilian passengers.

Recently, in the I-AC coach I could not board the train because these gentlemen (one Lt. Colonel and his team) had taken over the I-AC coach, locked all the entrances but one and that too blocked with huge steel boxes. And when I expressed my inconvenience, three of these gentlemen threatened to beat me up. They spared me only after I unbuttoned my shirt and showed them the wound from my very recent surgery!

The 'gentleman's' parting words were "just shut up and never argue with a Fauji".

After reading today's news I consider myself very fortunate.

Shamefull act
by Masudkhan on Jan 24, 2005 12:42 PM  Permalink

This is really a shamefull act by the army jawans. This not the first time that we heard of such an incident. Every now and then we hear about army men indulging in shameful acts like this one and not to forget rapes and fights with the civilains. This matter should taken very seriously and the guilty must be punished with the highest punishment.

Jawans massacre
by Warren Fernandes on Jan 24, 2005 10:55 AM  Permalink

Is this our army? I too wanted to join the army toserve the nation. But our own jawans are killing our OWN people wihtout reason becos our people are travelling in our trains. Who needs an enemy? WE have our own enemy in uniform. PLease courtmartial them and let it be known to public that it is done so. They are to safeguard us and not to kill us. Also i would like to know if they were intoxicated or they have done this delibaerate act of sadism.

Atrocious incidents
by Hanmantha Reddy on Jan 23, 2005 09:09 PM  Permalink

Jawans pushing civilians out of running trains has come to become a common incident, of late. This is totally atrocious and condemnable.
Most of the jawans are arrogant to think that they are above the civil law and commit this sort of atrocities. Are they really beyond civil law? If yes, our laws should be amended so that they are brought under the purview of civil law too. This will make them think sensibly before commiting this kind of atrocities.
Arguments with jawans are a common scene in almost every train. They claim that a couple of bogies are reserved for them and do not let anyone else to enter them. Do we still have the concept of reserving a couple of bogies for jawans in every train? If yes, it is time we amended the railways rules and made jawans at par with other civilians.

6 fellows were thown out of running trains
by prattipati on Jan 23, 2005 06:58 PM  Permalink

eventhough people were thrown out of running trains to their death several times in the past, absolutely irresponsible governments/police/courts/other authorities did absolutely nothing to prevent such barbaric events from happening again.
measures suggested:
___________________
(1) finish judicial enquiry in one month and publicly hang those jawans
(2) stop 24 hour telecast of cheap, sexy, vulgar and violent movies into crores of living rooms in this country as this mindless phenomenon has been increasingly making even a 5 year old child totally insensitive to crime and murder and making them think and behave like hard core criminals
(3) courts should order all the previous governments inform the people what if any action they had taken against such out of train throwers in the past
(4) most of the hard core white and blue collar criminals must receive most deterrent punishment like confiscation of all their illegally amassed wealth, life long ban on contesting elections, life imprisonment, 100% cut in pension and things like that

Thats bad....A blot on the otherwise clean face of our armed forces
by Sameer on Jan 23, 2005 06:26 PM  Permalink

The reporting is done in a biased manner...
The story goes this way...
People enter army compartment, jawans object and ask them toget down, they say, they'd get down at the next station. They allow.
At the net station also they dont get down, this time the army wallas are serious, and force them to get out, the ones who get on the platform are ok, but the ones who getdown on the other side.... they collide with a trian which suddenly comes on that adjacent track.

Agreed the soldiers are to be blamed.. but also learn the whole story....

Whats happening to the army? Why all these things like this are happening to our forces.... they are the final hope of the citizens who see corruption everywhere.... all things like Ketchup Colnel, Booze brigadier etc. bring bad reputation to the forces... (Not that they are clean, but when u compare with other dept.s they are better.
