After reading the book Lajja (based on true events - and banned in Bangladesh) by Taslima Nasreen I realized how Hindus in Bangladesh were treated after the shameful destruction of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
The book helped me empathize with these refugees and helped me understand the inhuman circumstances that these poor people who lost their home and family had to endure before taking refuge in India.
India is a benevolent country and we need to be more tolerant towards these refugees who have undergone religious persecution. After all, where will these people who have lost all go?
Wouldn't it be wise for the government to focus their efforts to better the infrastructure of the Kendrapara district in Orissa to support all who reside there?
This is ridiculous..what can 1550 poor people who have nowhere to go and have been living there for ages do? Instead of concentrating on stopping infilitration and on other important tasks, the government is going crazy trying to kick out poor people.
This is all the government of INDIA can do. Go after a few thousands of so called bangladeshi citizens!! If INDIA, (I am an indian -- NRI now thanks to Indian policies)..., is so proud and great let these guys live a normal earning life. and let all this effort and monies go into stopping the corruption (for which i left the country) and also the black monies which are mostly dominated by politicians!! Come on, who are the politicians trying to fool? They are trying to just deflect the attention from reality!!. Catch the industrialist/business men ho evade taxes, catch the policemen who take Rs 20 bribes!!. I had a hard time adjusting to life in the UK.. know why!! Well u got to stop at a Red Light(isnt it new information!!!) and u also got to stop at Zebra Crossing for pedestrians to cross!! (In India, Whats a pedestrian!!) But after all these inconviniences I still like it here!! (No Wonder). Wont bother you guys with anymore of the stupid, small, inconsiderate stuff Thank You Government of India for making me run away form a country I love!!
