by Sanjay Kale on Jul 21, 2006 09:40 PM  Permalink

Thank you, for giving the truth. As I am scientist of DRDO The truth will never hide The DRDO scientist and technologist will progress further more but media should agree that they are not doing justice with DRDO because the only DRDO could not suceed without users support. the user alos should commit their requirement more transperent and reliable and be firm then only some fruit the India will see

its really nice to hear good about drdo. this is an example of praising for a right thing. being a drdo scientist i can say that the drdo is a unique R&D organisation where, there is no lack of talent but the need is of hard and team work. if all the scientists and technical staffs do their best we can reach at the toppest level.

DRDO's achievements
by panky on Jan 30, 2005 11:00 AM  Permalink

this a very good account, even more widespread intangible spin-offs like building an experienced and expertized human resources in cutting edge technologies is helping in building a self reliant knowledge society.

well, that sounds nice, but drdo does not pay well.
by hash on Jan 28, 2005 03:13 PM  Permalink

DRDO has been doing a good job from 1958. but they could have done e better job if they were able to attract the best minds in nation to work with them. true, DRDO does recruit the best minds in the country. (in many NITs they are the first to go for campus selsction) a young graduate who would join as Scientist 'B' in DRDO would get approximately 13500 rupees as salary. but his classmates who could nt get through DRDo interview would join MNCs and would be paid double that amount!!!

added to that is the beaurocratic formalities of DRDo as a govt organisation. and within an year the less paid graduate gets frustrated by the formalities like "cash purchase", "work order", "local purchase" etc.

and he looks for placement in ANY private firm.

and thus DRDO loses their best recruits.

solution is to increase the pay. at least to the level of PSUs like NTPC, ONGC or BSNL.

better still..... PRIVATISE DRDO!!! If that happens it would challenge NASA.

This should be an Eye Opener
by RAVI NANDAN on Jan 22, 2005 11:51 AM  Permalink

DRDO bashing is all about bad nexus or the ignorance of the media. When you really investigate, It is just classical example of "Ghar ki Murgi Daal Barabar", So Wake up media. Self reliance should never be compramized. Cutting edge technology is not a over night work. To add, there is ban on several vital components. Give DRDO a break.

Its great to see the development of nation in DRDO's success. It heartening, but everything developed( claimed so ) by DRDO is not a product of DRDO.It buys the foreign warfare and copies the same design , changes its label with an indian name.No concept conceived ,developed and made as a product. All the developments in the products are done for the promotions of the scientists and mostly not for the nation. Each and every lab is full of people with catse feelings , and hence no coherence or sync. among the employees.

Proud to be indian
by Subhash on Jan 19, 2005 01:21 PM  Permalink

Hi

After i went thru this article, i felt very sad as there were no messages posted in regard to this article. It just reflects the kind of fellings we have for our country. Although we say that we are proud to be indians but it is not reflected in our actions. I would like to congratulate the indian scientists for thier hard work and all the efforts they put in to secure the nation. I would also like to personally thank all of them for doing such a good job. Moreover i would advice the scientific community living in india and working relentessly working for the country that they should keep doing such good work whatever the critics might have to say. I believe that criticism should be positive and not just because we have the right to express we should be allowed to say anythiny. Rather i feel that we too negative in our approah and do not know how to potray good things. I would like to be excused for this remark but our media is just busy in earning money by any means and therfore there all the enrgies is being wasted in negative thoughts.
However coming back to article i would again congratulate the indian scientific community and would end with that " I am proud to be indian"
