Nothing unusual
by Dr T S Raman on Jan 18, 2005 09:18 AM  Permalink

The treatment given to the nurse is similar to the procedures in government offices. A government "servant" can be punished for much less, like writing a letter to a newspaper or even to an "higher authority" without routing it "through proper channel". The "conduct rules" and other administrative rules make it an offence for him or her to make any sort of complaint against the immediate boss.
Was the hospital in which Archana was employed under the government? If it was a private hospital, it is doubly unfortunate that she has been sacked for reasons that are of no concern to her employers.

Rediff should investigate..
by RS on Jan 17, 2005 10:28 PM  Permalink

I hope Rediff staff investigate Archana's troubles, find the truth, and report the complete matter. I am certain that Archana must have been turned down help everywhere else.

Prez's Confused Security Article
by Aninda on Jan 17, 2005 09:52 PM  Permalink

What does this article mean ? It does not have any conclusion nor guidance. What happenned to the girl -when and why did she lose the job at all when she was trying to get supreme help out of haplessness ? - what is the president doing ?

This article is more like a confused extempore.

Mr. President please set a precedent
by Anindya Ratan Majumdar on Jan 17, 2005 09:12 PM  Permalink

Respected Mr.President,
Please look into the matter of the girl who broke into your security cordon. Its true she breached your security cordon but it shows her determination to get justice. Sir, you are the father of the nation as per constitution. If you dont do justice to this helpless girl then Sir it will become a black spot on your clean track record as an honourable man. It is however another matter that you should overhaul your secret service who were inept at stopping an unarmed girl from reached one of the most protected personalities. Both these aspects require immediate attention. One the girl gets a decent job and two you get a tighter security cordon. Sir, you are the pride and asset of our nation. Dont ignore the poor girl's pleas or your own security.

Prez security
by viswanath on Jan 17, 2005 08:07 PM  Permalink

It is indeed harsh to treat a young person this way. After all she only sought to draw attention to her problem, though it is a violation. This definitley should be ignored and the punishment revoked. I am sure our honourable Prez will give instructions to reinstate this girl who in all probality, acted in desperationsince her problems may not have been attnded at village level.
