I agree that the boy from Balia has not passed any official NASA exam but he is telling at the top of his voice that someone from Kota has taken him to London for this NASA exam. Why don't you people ask that chap from Kota who runs his mill of intellectual wisdom? Don't you know that many private tution houses in Rajasthan or elsewhere are dens of criminal activities run by some mediocres who claim to be experts of certain courses, and if you verify their credentials than possibly would find evidences of failure easily. They want to become millionnaires at the cost of such ignorant kids like the boy from Balia.
This is a glaring example of the stupidities that rediff indulges in with respect to news items. On Feb-17 rediff have put up the news without verifying any details nor quoting any news agency.
It is worse than a tabloid.
Rediff would do well to get better content quality than these sensationally false stories. Get better journalists for the sake of the sanity of some of the readers who may actually condescend to click on the news item to check out the stories on this site.
This story is a sureshot demonstration of the fact that how all the brilliant prospects of a brilliant boy have been spoilt over over zealousness of the family, local authorities and politicians.
What are they trying to prove? If everybody is keeping mum that means this should have been kept confidential.
If NASA and the govt are quiet and not making any comments, they must be having their own reasons for it. The fact that boy is brilliant and has been rewarded should be enough for him and he should work on his future career prospects and not seek publicity now even if at the cost of secrecy and confidentiality.
How on earth we find all these hoaxes coming out of U.P. and Bihar all the time? There is something special about the state of mind of people on claiming false achievements that never existed. Government should seriously look at improving literacy rate of these states to help get better achievements in life for these people.
If proof were ever needed that 58 years after independence ,we have not shed our colonial baggage , it is this latest report/hoax.Why does our press have to repeatedly and frequently hype some relatively minor achievement of persons of Indian Origin in the US and western world while ignoring far greater deeds of Indians on our own shores ?It is as if without the White Man's certification we haven't made the grade. The other issue is of course that winning awards /felicitations in these countries doesn't matter as much to India at all, particularly if they are citizens of their adopted countries, have settled down on foreign shores, and are contributing to their adopted countries , not to India.
