Stop lying sourabh...
by Ashutosh Sohaney on Feb 24, 2005 03:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indians like sourabh makes me feel little. Why you guys do these things? Just for making some quick money & getting a few flash in lime light, to show your face on television. Stop lying sourab, you had already brought enough shame. I have a few questions for the SO CALLED TOPPER:

1) Why you went all the way to london for apperaing in exam? Don't you know that NASA is in America, not in UK? Please check your GK books.

2) Did all the 200000 students went to UK for writting the exams? If yes then how come media failed to highlight such a big gathering of students in london?

3) can you please share the address of other 2 Indian student whom you meet at london?

-------------------------
Request to all the Indians:
Please don't start feeling proud & start congratulating. Becarefull about the information you have. It may be false & misleading (Like this one).

-------------------------
Request to Media:
Please don't run after such stoies that bring sahme to us as nation. Ihope that you all know that before publishing any fact you must verify it. Expecting a mature media who does not believe in exagerrating things & is able to differentiate between hoax & truth.

An Embrassed Indian

I feel ashamed by such Indians...
by Ashutosh Sohaney on Feb 24, 2005 03:09 PM  Permalink

I feel very much embrassed due to such foolish & flase testimony of some Indians. These people make such exagerrating statements only get in lime light & earn some false repect. Let the professors from IIT's set an exam paper & then ask this boy to clear that paper in a single shot. I believe that he will not be able to clear even the paper set by the local engineering college professors.

We Indians should rstrain ourselves from such false propoganda, because it hampers the image of our great nation in the eyes of the world & we loose credibility.

One request to media persons: Please verify the facts before running madly after any story. Please do it for the sake of Journalism and show that Indian media world is mature enough to distinguish between hoax & truth.

Its a fake
by sachin on Feb 24, 2005 02:13 PM  Permalink

Come on. Can a certificate look more fake than this???? Look at the spelling of "Permanent" in Permanent address. It is spelled as Parmenent address. I believe the people in NASA would know better english than this!!!
By the way how is the year 2005-2006. Shouldnt it be 2004-2005????

Dr. Kalam's NASA exam in 1960
by zulu zulu on Feb 24, 2005 02:10 PM  Permalink

Dr. Kalam's Birthday is 15 Oct 1931. As per the report he appeared in NASA exam in 1960! i.e. age 29 years

The boy cleared same exam. and topped.

This indicate that boy is more genius than Dr. Kalam!

Taken for a ride
by AN on Feb 24, 2005 02:00 PM  Permalink

It looks that the boy and his family have been taken for a ride by some unscrupulous agency!
The certificate/admit card/membership card, whatever it is supposed to be, does look fake:
1. No logo anywhere suggesting it is from NASA
2. US generally follows calendar year, not financial year. One would expect it to be 2005 instead of 2005-06.
3. Father's name is almost never mentioned in the US in any document except in some very specific legal documents.
4. Certificates never mention permanent address
5. "Sign Stu" is a typical Indian usage. You don't see such expressions in the US.
6. Why would a student sign a certificate? This looks like an admit card or a membership card.
7. What is a member of NASA?
8. How do you know you topped the exam if you are given letter grades (A,B,C,..)? In fact, the system of ranking almost does not exist in the US the way it does in India.

by Ayyappan on Feb 24, 2005 01:21 PM  Permalink

Hi

What you guys are doing??? Simply publishing the news what you heard????!!! Is it fare?? Means that the media fooled us by reverting the false claim made by the boy on taking NASA examinations to them..Even Rediff did the same :(.. Shame on your reporters who fooled the common man reading the news...

Saurabh took NASA exam: Family
by tejas mulay on Feb 24, 2005 12:48 PM  Permalink

I dont think the certificate shown is real one. Cuase hardly anything is clear from the image. Also, President APJ Abdul Kalam hasnt mentioned of his NASA exam in his autobiography - Wings Of Fire.

Taken for a ride ! Rastrapati Bhavan on snail pace.
by Chandresh on Feb 24, 2005 12:00 PM  Permalink

This is a ridiculously strangled episode of hoax and dupe. To view it from Saurabh's side, it could be true that Saurabh, did go and top this exam, which may have been conducted by some forged organisation under NASA's tag. I think instead of talking to Santosh's cousin and every Tom-Dick&Harry about the clarification, its better if Saurabh is asked to provide an original of his certificate and it is later duly verified from the authorities for genuineness. Overall, it shows how foolish can Indian media be, just in the rat-race to get the scoop first, without verification. Also, one more surprising thing is the callousness and laxity the Rashtrapati Bhavan showed in clarifying the issue. The report of Kalam appearing in the exam appeared a week ago in all leading dailies, but the Bhavan passed its clarification denying it, only on Tuesday, after it was discovered that all claims were hoax. What were they waiting for ?
