Accoutred with GPS, why should one actually climb the peak to measure it? Unless if there are other survey objectives associated. I believe a onetime installation of the transmitting device to GPS satellites should suffice. Any reason why this cannot be done?

Please check facts first. Mt. Everest is on the border of Nepal and Tibet. It has nothing to do with India. And, Tibet is a part of China.
