Good article, but seems like Shenoy is having no other good topic. I wonder how people like Shenoy waste their and readers time on stupid statements by so called netas like Ram Vilas Paswan. BTW is mr.RVP married to a muslim, whom he can make a CM if those pieces stick together.
I hope one word that makes UPA Goverment goes for a full term is secularism, even third front also can be formed only with the help congress, but if that situation arises congress will like to go for a election so its pretty much clear your views are early predictions now a days even exit polls are going wrong so predictions are not say definetly fails.
Mr Shenoy's article most certainly makes sense though it is indeed a little out of focus. The present Congress Government, with its sharp and solemn leader, Mr Manmohan Singh has been taking very good initiaives in better governance. The party too is being given good direction by a committed person, SoniaGandhi. The party is also giving opportunites to young and individualistic minds like Sachin Pilot or Milind Deora, and is certainly on to proactive progress. In this scenario, it is the Left, while professing that they safeguard the poor man's interest, is stuck in its old thinking and is needlessly causing obstacles in the Government's action-plans.
But the real harm comes from virus like Ram Vilas Paswan who try every trick in the book to get to power. In comparison, Laloo Prasad Yadav certainly has shown political maturity and will not be the reason for Mr Manmohan Singh's problems. But why are we, Indians, so naive that we do not gauge the machinations of people like a Ram Vilas Paswan or a Mayawati, whose sole role in Indian politics is to grab power at any cost ?

what is the aim of your article? To write stupid things about the Left ? How easily you dismiss the seats that the seats won by the Left is by sheer luck. If thats the case, Cong won the seats by pure luck too. and those who lost also by luck. It was losses in 3 states that forced Sonia to go into alliance in almost all states in the Lok Sabha election. After that, all the stupid media praised her for the victory. Now that they are in power, they have gone back to their arrogant ways. Thats the reason for the UPA split in these elections. When they came to power, PM and FM said there wont be disinvestment. Now they want it back. When the poor die of starvation, they not bothered. If some foreign businessman complains, they immediately change the policy to relax the norms. The problem lies in our urban middle class who think anyone with a good qualification makes a good PM/FM. It would be great if we had someone who could think dynamic, rather than someone who just act like auditors and not policy makers. As for ppl like Shenoy, they just like buttering up anyone whos in power and abusing the Left.
Your article is completly biased. Its the responsible role played by the left that we have a govt. in place. Its also due to the left that important issues like the FDI and disinvestment are debated in the open. You want them to go in for the kill so that the BJP is benifitted and then uses its office to forwards its own discreditted policies. The left has a very important role to play in todays times. The media people feel threatned with the growth of the left (for obvious reasons) I have not been a left supporter but now i have started understanding the media. Another useless article that goes to show how obsessed our "political analysts" are with political happenings in New Delhi/bihar/whereever. Why dont we dedicate space on this site for better articles ? What happened to our race to the moon, the highway quadrilateral, the power situation or the prophylactic measures taken towards the annual flood problem faced by millions of indians ? Its comming in another few months right ? I live in San Diego but I am sure millions of indians find the above questions more pertinent than the one discussed in this article. What the F do I care what paswan or lallu or whoever else thinks about .... whatever... ???? Wasted webspace and waste of time of whoever read this article.
I completely agree with your article, the chemistry is completely skewed ... however, the thought of it coming together someday sends shudders down one's spine - a government consisting of Lalu Yadav, Paswan, Mulayam Singh, Mayawati? Heaven Forbid! And with CPI and CPIM support from the outside - perfect recipe for disaster!
