We see such carelessness every where in the country and not only in case of Kashmir Hindus! The writer should be more responsible while reporting on such sensitive issues to avoid prejudicial view that may tantamount to unnecessary adverse repercussions! Let us try to drop the communal identities such as Hindus and Muslims when we call ourselves as citizens of a secular India! The only scope to avoid prevailing carelessness in various Governmental and non Governmental organizations in the entire country is to tone up the administration to sack failing persons by better immediate replacements from the waiting unemployed pool of suitable candidates, that will not only behave as a deterrent for carelessness but also will tackle unemployment to certain extent! Administrative recruitment rules should be revised without any loss of time to ensure that selection and posting are made from only performance based and not from qualification based candidates! If political will to make such immediate toning up operations exist, I dont think it is so difficult to see that remedial measures are hastened up to ensure fast developmental activities!

Its because of people like you that Indians are not caring about other citizens... You marxist bent of mind people always see issues in the light of Hindus/Muslims etc. Come out of your shells....
See the reality or else you will be murdered by your friendly neighbourhood minority guy... for whom you fought... (Not all are like this.... though!)
The writer tried to fool or he himself is the fool. He tried to say that Kasmiri Hindus symbolises India, no boss you are wrong, you are trying to hide the realility . It's a jihadi dogma those are not muslim those are the enemy and should be wipe out.
This is another fact wherever hindus are in minority there is always threat to india and hindus which symbolises nation. just see the example of kashmir and north-east states of india.
Why and what is the need to listen the plight of the kashmiri hindus? as per established secularism These are hindus the coward and having no vote bank power. If you say something about kashmiries you will be thrown out of secular band. Now anyone can ask where are those so called secularist, human right, minority commission, the messiah of the minorities?
You can cry and shout, no one in GoI is going to listen to the Kashimiri plight. Well, heck, a few years ago, the most respectable man of India, Abdul Kalam visited the refugee camps, promised he will look into the problem. Hmm, nothing has happened since. Not a fig. If the most influential, honest and man of integrity could not do anything about the plight of pundits, mark the words - "nobody ELSE will". Nor our puppet pm, nor the new congress cm (hee hee, who is that ?)
Kashmiris have only themselves to help themselves.
however irrational, one expects this sort of behavior from ones government, more so if it is the indian govt. what is much more painful, however, is the utter apathy displayed by the average [educated and well informed] indian.
time and again one comes across indians who are unaware of, or worse, indifferent to, the plight of their kashmiri compatriots. compatriots, whose only fault [besides being born hindu] lay in their refusal to join terrorists like yasin maliks misadventures against india. the same yasin malik who is felicitated as a neo gandhian from the drawing rooms of indian metros to the halls of academy by the indian intellectual elite. shame on them!!
As a fellow Kashmiri Pandit I share the exact sentiments of Lalit Kaul. While known Islamic terrorists like Yasin Malik who seek to destroy India are eagerly feted by the Indian government, the Kashmiri Hindus who have all along stood up for India and its constitution are treated like dirt.
Just started erading this article. I am shocked and surprized that even an educated and resposible writer and website will use Islamic terrorism. Is this what Rediff.com stands for??? As an Indian I am also very sorry at the state of Hindus in Kashmir but Sir please let us use words correctly otherwise we will give rise to more hatred. I am very regular reader @ Rediff but now I doubt the quality.
Tell me, what's wrong in giving guns to the kashmiri hindus in a move to protect themselves... 16 years of oppression and still why the hell kashmiri hindus are playing submissive ?.. if a terrorist is molesting a women, the women should CUT him off.. if a terrorist is beating a man..the man must fight back..the terrorist is also a human being right ?? he is not a different species... When such low people can get their hands on guns and explosives...the kashmiri hindus must also take guns in their hands...there is no point in believing that the stupid govt will protect them..which is clear from the passport issue.. the govt is no different than the terrorist...After reading the article and the way the govt. acts, I feel its a shame to call myself an Indian...
