What Mr. Devi Saran did as captain of the illfated flight was really marvellous - well it really takes guts to stand up in such adversities, especially since you are staring in the face of death - but also remember all the other crew members and the passengers who had to undergo a harrowing time, just because of some of the most pathetic performance of our politicians and of our spineless bureaucracy. Well it was just murder on their part to have allowed the plane to have taken off from Amritsar. But nobody is caught for these offences. The problem is that we have stopped asking questions, which starts right from the smallest governmental official. Grease money has become a part and parcel of our lives, nobody even questions the practice, its sort of become quasi legal to pay money to get work done.
So why dont we take a new year resolution to atleast stop paying money to get things done, though it would take a lot of effort, I believe that if we dont stop it, we dont have any right to question the actions taken by the officials during the hijacking, we are the ones who encouraged them in the first place.
As they say, reap as you sow.
