Demolition drive in Delhi
by K.C.Sethuraman on Dec 23, 2005 02:44 PM  Permalink

Delhi is a city which needs strict implementation of the law. It is our belief that the law is only applicable for others and not to self. The reason being the local population believe they have a God father to save them at some level some where in the administration. The ego problem adds to the crime. The apathy of the administration also encourages others to take law into their own hands.

Demolition drive on a large scale is the first step which will give a lesson for the encoroachers and land grabbers. It is very unfortunate that to take the first step the court has to intervene and then the administration steps in. For implementaion of the law, the help of the court is required it would be better the other administrative set is wound up as early as possible.

Illegal constructions must go:HC
by venugopal on Dec 22, 2005 01:25 PM  Permalink

The cancerous growth of illegal buildings by the builders in nexus with MCD and other authorities with blessings from the political parties must end. There is no other way the citizens of Delhi can have a peaceful residential atmosphere and the Hon Highcourt decision must be welcomed by all. High court must also look into the aerial invasion from the first floor onwards by the builders even in authorised bulidings. The buildings from both the sides almost join together at first floor level and hence the Road becomes a cave. With Delhi being earthquake prone, there is no safety even if you get out of the buildings. There are several such residential Flats being build (under construction now) in Karol Bagh and Rajinder Nagar Area. MCD must immediateley stop this menace before completion by the builders as otherwise the prospective buyers become the victims.

P.S// If possible please pass this information to authorities concerned before it is too late
