Rajeev has reached the height of foolishness. Its extremely sad that he is sowing the seeds for communal hatred. Wish he had used his extensive research for meaningful things in life. Lets not forget barbianisn of Taliban is knwon world over.
Religion is required only to control the masses. It has nothing to do with GOD. Well I think the Hindus understand the reality more, since there are so many GODS and GODESSES, all created just to control the masses. If anybody questions why so many ?? just say AVATAAR or Manifestation of the same GOD and create a beautiful myth around that Manifestation. The MASK of all religions as various paths to the same GOD is going off and the true intent of establishing the religion is slowly coming to light. This is seen more pronouncedly in case of Hinduism because of its very own nature of worshipping many deities and the infighting among the communities worshipping different deities. In the case of other religions since this is not the case, its not observed.... but finally everyobody has to come to terms with the truth. Various religions have taken birth with only Political gain as the real cause. Human life will not loose or gain its value just because of the persons choice of his religion, or his parents choice of location of his birth.
there was this hindi movie (guess munna bhai mbbs) that i was watching in which sunil dutt talks about average indians thoughts, no job, much traffic, much pollution, fight with wife etc etc & these are the people that have their disgruntled comments here in rediff, but a quantitative analyis of the root cause of discontent is something else, and rajeev and many more in here are trying to relate it in a communal fashion and voice their frustrations, that is all to it & kudos to the above radhika who voice such mature thoughts
i think one should come out of their shelves and try for self improvement and raising your bars of self esteem, cause these kind of negating thoughts are self defeating...it would only eat you inside and corrode your mind...go to larger universities, travel abroad and look for the good in other people, come out of your groups and dont be afraid, i have had friends who are christians, muslims and hindus who are a gem...and dont take up isolated events, and stir up the crowd. what happened with maniappan is really sad, but then there are hundreds of indian soldiers dying everyday, protecting our country, from terrorist bullets and harsh icy terrains, then
how can a wrong right another wrong? Anyone, in any country, who is unfairly executed and exploited should be a cause for concern, instead of this Hindu/Muslim divide, you could have focussed on the positive side when people from both communities have done good for the other. And i as a muslim can vouch that my Hindu brethren have been far more tolerant of me than my muslim brethren elsewhere. But how does such negativism help!??

You are the one who is being foolish.I wonder if you can talk sense into a bunch of goons like the Taliban. They have no respect for their own people. They shoot them for simple things like watching TV. How on earth can you talk sense into their heads? When educated people like you get carried away by such hopeless rheotic, we have a perfect recipe for politicians to take advantage of. Wake up! If you wish to do something, discourage people who take such views. It is only then our great nation can hold it's head high. Don't fall prey to such senseless venom. We have a bunch of brilliant young people in our country whose energies if channeled in the right direction can take our country a long way. India was ruled by the British for over 200 years and yet only 2% of Indians are Christians. This is proof enough that Hinduism is a fundamentally strong religion and does not need people like the author as pillars. The world looks to India for it's unique culture, the compassion and warmth of it's people and qualities found only in our blessed country. For heaven's sake, dont destroy thouse qualities by spreading hate.Let's all live as Indians and not as Hindus, Christians and Muslims.
How foolish can you get? You seem to be suffering from the 'selective' factor just like Mr George W. Bush. He only says what he wants to, sees what he wishes to and hears what he loves. I suppose you are following the same example.
Its true that politicians have long divided our country for their selfish needs. Now responsible portals like rediff allowing such a blasphemous and highly venomous piece of junk is something unwarranted.
And for the writer, have the fear of Ram in your heart and do not spread hate for some meagre rupees!
You seem to get foolish. Because of foolish so called Hindu lot like you that situation with Hindu is what it is and will get worse because of people like you being champions of so called right thinking. Are the Muslims or Christians not fighting to save and spread their religion? Then why Hindus should be large hearted and not protect their lot? Wake up otherwise you will become an alien in your land.
