I think you are ignoring the most important thing. It is because of the Left Front Government you don't see any Babri-masjid or Godhra incident in West Bengal. And if you think Sourav Ganguly is the only hero left for Bengalees, I would like to remind you of Satyajit Ray (only oscar winner in Indian Cinema), Amartya Sen (the latest Nobel laureate), Jhumpa Lahiri (Pulitzar prize winner), Leander Paes, Shreya Ghosal, ... and the list goes on..
Bengal dows not have any heroes other than Sourav Ganguly? What about Prof. Amartya Sen, the nobel prize winner? What about Pandit RaviShanka, Ustad Ali Akbar to mane a few? What about the national champions of Table tennis? What about the world class authors? Mr. Shenoy, I don't believe you are on drugs> So please do your homework first!
You cannot compare Bihar with West bengal. The Whole governing machinery of bihar is decomposing, totally sold out by bureaucats, politions. It was the need of the hour for present bihar to come out from its stagnant status,It is a welcome news.we could some goodwork from nitish kumar.West Bengal Within in Limitations has tried it best to give development to its people. We call ourseves a democratice nation,But in a way only the people of west bengal asert their democratic right. There are mass organisations stronger than the poltical party. The Masses are aware of thier responcibilities, role.Cpm has been ruling west bengal for 28 years ,buit has a single corruption come up.Even Mamata banerjee who always on with her search team to malganise the left front government has not found even a single case of bribe taken by West Benegal Government or Bureaucats. This is a country where every individuals has right to protest against injustice, then how can the supreme court give the judgement declaring strikes has illegal. The Capitalist media has been talking about double speak policies of the Cpm,Which is false propaganda.CPM is against disinvestment of Navratna and Healthy PSu's not against dis..
The article really depicts the political, social, cultural & economic condition of present West Bengal. Moreover removing English in late seventies from lower classes has really ruined the present generation.
How dare you make this comment that there are very few bengali heroes left in these days. Have you forgotten the name of Amarta Sen, Saurav Gangully, Babul Supriyo, Kumar Sanu, Avijeet,Gautam Ghosh and many others. You should have gone through more study before writing such an article. And being a media person you should write truth and not all rubbish as you have started writing
You have made an excellent step towards proving yourself as a racist and less of an intellectual. For one, everyone but yourself has discussed this issue for being right or wrong, not Ganguly being Bengali or Marathi. And for two, the people, inpericular Bengalis, who have raised their voice agianst this injustice, seems to have provided you the right oppurtunity to spit your racial venom which might be nurturing in your mind for decades. Sorry sir, there will be less takers and more haters for your ideas.
